I’ve spoken a lot this year about Walmart’s Bettergoods line, and more specifically, how the store seems to be using it as a bit of a testing ground. In a good way, too: Throughout 2026, we’ve seen its Bettergoods range bring out pizzas, mac and cheese flavors, breakfast breads, and plenty of other items that feel ambitious and forward-thinking in their own way. The store’s not reinventing the wheel with any of them, sure – but they’re definitely a bit more fun than the standard stuff you’d normally get in private label lines.

And it turns out that Walmart’s not done, either. This week, we learned that it’s got five new dessert options coming to stores under its Bettergoods brand, and they’re a mixture of classic and gently innovative. Let’s discuss.
New Bettergoods Desserts
Yesterday, @candyhunting reported that Walmart’s five new Bettergoods desserts are headed to the freezer aisle now. They are:
- Salted Maple Pecan Rustic Tart: Pecan pieces are coated in a salted maple filling and folded into a flaky crust.
- Apple Cranberry Rustic Tart: Similar to the above, this dessert piles Northern Spy apples and cranberries into a crust nest.
- Salted Caramel Cheesecake: Time for a classic! A caramel mascarpone cheesecake on a graham cracker crust.
- Pumpkin Chai Cheesecake: Think pumpkin spice, but with a twist: Pumpkin cheesecake with chai spices on a graham cracker base.
- Sticky Toffee Pudding: Let’s go, UK invasion. A date-stuffed sponge cake smothered in a buttery toffee sauce.
No word on whether these will be limited-time options, but as they’re autumnal options, I’d imagine you have until close to the end of the year to try them.
A Warm Reception
These new desserts have quite literally just arrived in Walmart stores in the last few days, so we don’t have a wide set of opinions on them just yet – but so far, people who have tried the desserts are fans. The cheesecakes have gone down particularly well, with some customers pointing out their density and value for money. Over on @candyhunting’s post, there’s also a fair bit of excitement about the Sticky Toffee Pudding. “I hope this is the beginning of more sticky toffee pudding availability in the States,” said one person – and as a Brit (a fact that I shoehorn into most articles I write, but here there’s reason for it, damnit!), I, of course, approve wholeheartedly. A good sticky toffee pudding is a thing of beauty.
