With so many different potato chip brands to choose from, it can feel like a near-Herculean task to find one that actually deserves real estate in your pantry. You want something that doesn’t feel too greasy but also never skimps on flavor. It’s also best to opt for a chip sturdy enough to stand up to dip, no matter how thick or thin the consistency is. It’s a tough choice. Do you grab a bag of Lay’s, Ruffles, or Tostitos? Well, maybe you shouldn’t pick up either of those three well-known brands and opt for a company called Wrap City.

We were fortunate enough to get our eager little mitts on a variety of potato chip flavors courtesy of Wrap City, and let’s just say after your first bite you might just forget Lay’s, Ruffles, and Tostitos even exist anymore. We sampled six types of potato chips, and to say we were impressed is the understatement of the decade. This New Hampshire-based company began cranking out small batches of kettle chips in 2015 in the back of a sandwich shop. But, once customers had their first taste, the chips became a staple item, and for good reason. Each bag proudly states that anyone who tries the chips will find “Love at first crunch!” and after our sampling, we can confidently agree with that sentiment. So, let’s take a dive into each flavor we tried and why we recommend it to anyone who loves snacking.
Original Flavor
This flavor completely took me by surprise. There was a surprisingly sweet kick on each sliced Russet that mingled perfectly with the salty flavor you expect on a potato chip. This sweet-salty combo was absolutely divine, and each chip really punched hard with the taste. Each chip was thick, sturdy, and had a great crunch to accompany the flavor combination. I didn’t expect Original to hit so hard, but I am beyond glad it did.
Sea Salt
Biting into a potato chip that’s loaded with too much salt is a nightmare. You feel your blood pressure skyrocket and you start running for the nearest water source to quench an aggressive thirst. But, Wrap City’s sea salt chips find the perfect balance of saltiness, and you never feel your mouth puckering from an overpowering sodium rush. These chips are so simple and so delicious.
Sea Salt and Vinegar
Salt and vinegar is a classic potato chip combination that, when done correctly, hits your palate with layers of flavor all working in sync to create a truly compelling taste. Wrap City’s version of salt and vinegar are the epitome of balanced and bold. The saltiness never overwhelms your mouth, but it’s just enough to join forces with the tangy vinegar taste for a see-saw of dual tastes that rock back and forth while you chew.
Sour Cream and Onion
Sour cream and onion is a combination that gets a ton of love from potato chip enthusiasts, but when the flavors are balanced improperly, each bite is a big bummer. Luckily, Wrap City does this flavor combo justice. You get an almost creamy sensation from the sour cream flavor, and then the sweet and zesty onion swoops in to scatter its awesome taste and cut through that creaminess. Sensational.
Barbecue
Barbecue chips can truly be a hit-or-miss flavor, but Wrap City, yet again, crushed it. Instead of an overly smoky flavor that so many other companies offer when it comes to barbecue flavor, these chips offer bold and zesty notes with a subtle sweetness that pokes through. Each chip gives a hearty bite with its sturdy texture, and you’ll likely crave some actual barbecue after you snack since the flavor is so legit.
White Cheddar Jalapeño
White cheddar, to me, is one of the best flavors of any snack, so I was super excited to try Wrap City’s version that also added a kick of jalapeño. Needless to say, I almost ate the entire bag in a single sitting. These things were such a joyous combination of bold and creamy white cheddar with a spicy kick that never overshadowed the cheese but lingered on my palate with a warming heat. This was a flavor match made in heaven, and I’ll be finishing that bag tonight.
