I don’t know when or how we’ll get them, but I know this: Mountain Dew Baja Blast Under-Eye Patches are real and caffeinated. Earlier this week, Taco Bell revealed the particularly wild new skincare(!?) product in a particularly wild way. We’ve got all the details… as soon as you’ve taken a few deep breaths and thought about why the idea of caffeinated under-eye patches based on a soda got you so excited.

Where did this news come from?

I’m not sure you’ll believe me when I tell you. Mountain Dew Baja Blast Under-Eye Patches were revealed during a game of “Made or Made Up” hosted by comedienne Ego Nwodim and Taco Bell’s Global Chief Food Innovation Officer, Liz Matthews. This game show took place during Taco Bell’s third annual Live Más LIVE new product presentation, streaming now on Peacock.

In “Made Or Made Up?”, hypothetical Taco Bell products were shown to a panel of celebrities who had to guess whether the products had actually been created or faked just for the show. The panel consisted of rapper Lil Jon, actress Ashley Park, and comedian Devon Walker. (Duh, who else would it be?) When these caffeinated Baja Blast under-eye patches were shown during a speed round, Devon Walker voted “Made”, at which point the camera cut to the musician FINNEAS wearing a pair in the audience. That’s real as real can be… unlike the “7-Layer Sip” which started the game.

I watched Live Más LIVE; they didn’t say anything about these being caffeinated!

Ah, but the Live Más LIVE press release does. Here’s the description straight from the fast-food chain‘s mouth: “For the Baja Blast die-hard, infused with caffeine and a refreshing boost of citrus, these patches energize skin and deliver cooling hydration.” It’s right there in black and white, folks. If you’re wondering who caffeinated under-eye patches with the vibes of Baja Blast are really for, look no further. I’m writing this piece far past my bedtime with a two-piece luggage set under my eyes. Taco Bell, I need these ASAP.

When can I get these caffeinated Baja Blast under-eye patches?

Unfortunately, Taco Bell has not revealed a release date for this new… skincare product? Hey, here’s a question: what does this have to do with Taco Bell? Shouldn’t this be a Mountain Dew promotion? Is Taco Bell actually going to distribute these?

While we’re at it, under-eye patches aren’t even the first Baja Blast-themed beauty product! Last year, Mountain Dew partnered with Blind Barber to release a whole line of Baja Blast bodycare including moisturizer, shampoo bars, exfoliating bars, and a body mist. (I actually bought myself the body mist; I wear it about as often as my MUG Root Beer cologne.)
