Ritz really takes their time innovating in the “Bits” category. To date, we’ve only had six flavors—two of which are peanut butter-based and three of which are cheese-based! The full list includes Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter & Jelly, S’mores, Cheese (the G.O.A.T.), Cheese Pizza, and Spicy Queso. That Cheese Pizza variant first hit shelves back in the 1990s, but the concept was revamped in 2026 as “Flavor Charged Cheese Pizza.” I found a pack of this new take on an over-30-year-old concept at one of my least favorite gas stations; let’s find out whether it was worth reviving or if we should have brought back S’mores instead.

Cheese Pizza Ritz Bits!

Pros: I absolutely love the original Cheese Ritz Bits, and these are an interesting variant on that classic. While my first handful was just a barrage of aggressively unpleasant fake-pizza flavor, the snack did mellow out to taste like real, very cheap pizza as I worked through the bag. If you have a deep fondness for the worst college-party pizza you ever had as a young person, you’ll probably dig these.

Per the wrapper, the “Flavor Charged” aspect can be attributed to an additional seasoning on the mini Ritz crackers. I’ll cosign that, considering the pizza flavor is still very prevalent on the cheeseless crackers that ended up separated from their load-bearing partner in transit to my mouth.

Cons: If you couldn’t tell by the number of complaints I made during the pros portion of this review, Flavor Charged Cheese Pizza Ritz Bits are not my favorite sandwich crackers. As mentioned, the initial taste is very unpleasant and fake. When it comes to snacks like these, I tend to stick to the OG version; this tastes like other pizza-flavored products rather than actual pizza.

And why aren’t these available in the standard Ritz Bits box format? This Flavor Charged Cheese Pizza bag is three times larger than the packs you get in Ritz Bits multipacks at club stores. A box would be even bigger, but it could also be closed. Between the extra-strength flavor and the non-resealable format, you’re truly stuck with these whether you like them or not.
