Trader Joe's Cheeseburger Burrito Is Back (This Is Not a Drill)

I clearly don’t shop at Trader Joe’s enough, because I had no idea there was such a cult following around this one burrito. And I’m trying to wrap my head around how this would taste good, I am. Let me sit with it, okay? For now, here’s what you need to know.

Trader Joe’s Cheeseburger Burrito has returned. All hail the Cheeseburger Burrito?

Apparently, the Cheeseburger Burrito at TJ’s left some stores back in 2024 and hasn’t been around since. It’s unclear if this was a discontinuation or just a supply issue, but… she’s back, baby. He’s back? They’re back? I can’t decide on a gender for this burrito, I’m sorry. I’m still assessing the vibe.

Trader Joe’s wrote this in the burrito’s official product description, which tickled me: “Most of us have enjoyed our fair share of cheeseburgers and burritos in our time, but chances are you’ve never enjoyed them in one singular eating experience.” That’s correct, TJ’s. Thank you for rectifying a problem I didn’t know I had. Now I can die truly fulfilled.

I’m sure you could argue many different kinds of burritos have the same components as a cheeseburger (beef and cheese), but you’d be overlooking one key factor here: yellow mustard. This burrito has yellow mustard. Yep.

Dare I ask what else is in it?

Packed inside a flour tortilla, you’ll find something called “beef crumble,” sharp cheddar, chopped tomato, onion, ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish. I mean, that’s every staple of a cheeseburger, minus the mayo and bun. I don’t know why I’m having such a hard time thinking the tortilla would work with this flavor profile. I think it’s because I’ve had Trader Joe’s wraps in the past, and I simply don’t like their tortilla very much.

You can find it in the refrigerated section with the other prepared sandwiches and salads. Given how much some people love (and hate—I’ve seen some hate) this burrito, we’re definitely going to have to try it for ourselves. So sit tight for that official review.

Wait. Could this mean… TJ’s Cheeseburger Pizza is coming back?

I’ve decided I don’t have a leg to stand on. I loved Trader Joe’s Vegetarian Meatless Cheeseburger Pizza. How could I possibly sit here and fault a Cheeseburger Burrito I’ve never even tried?
Beyond baseless rumors (which claim it might actually return this summer) and my own wishful thinking, I don’t have any concrete info on the fate of TJ’s Meatless Cheeseburger Pizza. But Trader Joe’s does have a form you can use to yell at them about discontinued products you want to come back, and I think that’s beautiful. Okay, bye!!!
