Ball Park’s New Jalapeño Hot Dogs Are Bringing The Spice This Summer

It’s almost hot dog season. Can you feel it? It’s just around the corner. It may not have arrived yet, despite us constantly looking at the skies, licking our fingers and putting them up in the air, and doing all the other things that people do to check the weather – but we know it’s close.

And that means that it’s time for hot dog companies to start dropping new flavors and varieties. A few weeks back, Nathan’s kicked things off with a fancy new hot dog at Sam’s Club – and now, Ball Park has announced its new jalapeño hot dogs. Here’s what you need to know. 

Ball Park Bun Size Jalapeño Beef Franks Hot Dogs

Ball Park’s new hot dog is, it seems, a way to skip using jalapeños as toppings, and instead, it incorporates them straight into the dog itself. The brand says on its website that its hot dogs are “made with 100% beef and no fillers or by-products, delivering classic, meaty flavor with balanced jalapeño heat in every bun-length hot dog.” As yet, we don’t have a cross-section of this thing, so we don’t know if it’ll have little jalapeño flecks running through it (we’d imagine so, but, y’know, we like to get a visual on these things). What we do know, though, is that you can boil, grill, microwave, or slice them up and put them into other dishes. They need to be thawed first, just FYI – and they come in an eight-pack. 

And How Spicy Are They?

Well, Ball Park says that they have “just the right amount of heat,” so we would imagine they’re not too spicy. That said, we hope they have a good enough kick to them – otherwise, what’s the point? To be honest, given how “spicy” some spicy foods are, a few extra jalapeños on top might hit the spot. 

Where Can I Get Them?

Well, as of right now, they don’t seem to be in any stores just yet. However, Ball Park has stated that they’ll be rolling these hot dogs out pretty much imminently, so it shouldn’t be too long before you start seeing them near you. Keep an eye on the Ball Park website, as it’s got a product locator. Oh, and while you’re buying them, pick up some of our favorite hot dog buns.
