Costco’s Latest Stir Fry Is Getting Mixed Reviews

Costco prepared meals, it seems, are like buses: You wait ages for one to arrive, and then you get two at the same time. “Ages” is slightly hyperbolic from me there: Costco’s been putting out new and returning prepared meals for the entirety of 2026, and it’s been less than two months since its last major drop — its Italian sausage and pasta in garlic wine sauce — reappeared. Now, though, we’re getting double. Costco just gave us a new classy burrata salad, and at the same time, we got a new stir-fry.

Like the burrata salad, though, this new deli kit isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Basically, you might need to take out a small loan to get it. 

Costco Kirkland Signature Honey Sesame Chicken With Noodles & Sauce

Last week, Costco released its new Kirkland Signature Honey Sesame Chicken meal kit, which, like its gyro kit (that came back earlier this year), is an all-in-one dish that you prepare at home. Each package comes with crispy chicken breast chunks, yakisoba noodles, stir-fry vegetables, and two sauce sachets. 

Like all of Costco’s prepared meals and deli kits, the Kirkland Signature Honey Sesame Chicken with Noodles & Sauce is a hefty thing. As @costcobuys showed upon finding it in store, it’s priced at $5.99 per pound – but these packages are huge, meaning you’ll pay significantly more than that. And I mean significantly. The kit that @costcobuys found was priced at $23 for a single box – and yes, that’s meant to serve multiple people, but it’s expeeeensive, no?

Customers Definitely Think So…

Almost as soon as Costco dropped its Kirkland Signature Honey Sesame Chicken kit, customers started taking issue with the price. “$22 dollars and you have to cook it urself?! Madness!” said one person over on @costcohotfinds’ post about the meal kit, with others pointing out that you can probably make way more food for a lot less if you’re willing to just find the ingredients separately and put in some of the work. The aforementioned burrata salad also received the same criticism for its high price point (which is understandable, given that it only has a couple of ingredients in it).

A lot of people are also pointing out that the amount of food you get here doesn’t adequately reflect the price: This meal kit is meant to serve five, but the portions look pretty small. With all that said, though, there are customers out there praising this new meal kit for its flavor (although it does seem to be on the salty side). Just expect your wallet to be a lot lighter if you do buy it.
