This New Cupcake Kit Is A Must For Gingerbread Fans

Pillsbury spares absolutely no time when it comes to fall and winter. Oh, no. No, no, nooo. This is the time of year when the baking brand goes into overdrive. And honestly, would you expect anything less? These few months of the year wouldn’t be the same without a parade of seasonally focused baked goodies – and whether you’re actually going to buy them or not, the scents of pumpkin spice, maple, cinnamon, and gingerbread wafting through the air from the bakery aisle (or the image of these things wafting through the air – they’re probably not being baked then and there) are a salve.

In typical fashion, then, we’ve seen a lot from Pillsbury over the last few weeks, with its new Grands! Croissants (which we liked!), new Elf-themed Cinnamon Rolls, and new Pumpkin Stuffed Cupcakes. We thought the last of those might be an isolated drop, but as it turns out, Pillsbury had more plans for the concept. More flavors! Woo!

Pillsbury Gingerbead Stuffed Cupcake Kit

As per @candyhunting, who also dropped the news of its Pumpkin Stuffed Cupcakes, Pillsbury has a new option coming out with the same vibe. Its Gingerbread Stuffed Cupcake Kits are a combination of a pumpkin cupcake mix and a cream cheese-flavored filling pouch. You bake them all in one by blobbing (I believe that’s the technical term) the cream cheese filling into the center of your cupcakes before they bake, and then, once the oven’s done its thing, you have a creamy center and a fluffy outside – all with festive flavors.

It’s all pretty fun, right? @candyhunting’s followers definitely think so: People are fans of the concept, and, of course, the gingerbread of it all. As with its Pumpkin Stuffed Cupcakes, I’ll kind of believe in the success of all this when I see it: The filling remaining totally distinct from the cupcake batter feels like a real feat of engineering, and one that I wonder may be scuppered by reality. But hey – I’m willing and open to be proved wrong here.

It’s Frosting Time!

Along with its new Gingerbread Stuffed Cupcake Kit drop, Pillsbury also has a new frosting on its way – and three guesses as to what flavor it is…! That’s right: Gingerbread. Its new Gingerbread Frosting comes in a separate tub and can be used to your heart’s desire. You can even combine the two if you want: That cream cheese-flavored filling is also designed to go on top of your cupcakes, but double down on that ginger! It’s almost Christmas, after all!

No matter how you choose to combine these, both items will be available at Walmart and select other retailers. They’re on their way to stores now; expect to find them in the coming weeks. The festivities have started.
