You know what, folks? Sometimes, the simple products really are the best. We spend a lot of time here talking about noodle pizzas and ice cream burgers, but these aren’t things that people really need. So when a grocery store rolls up its sleeves and says, “Okay, so people like this item, but they want it to be more convenient…what can we do?” it’s always a good moment.

That’s exactly what’s happened at Aldi this week (or, rather, the result of Aldi saying that is what’s happened). The store has just released a new red wine vinegar spray, and it’s set to be a slightly unexpected fan favorite.
Aldi Priano Red Wine Vinegar Salad Dressing Spray
A few days ago, a Reddit thread popped up discussing Aldi’s new Priano Red Wine Vinegar Salad Dressing Spray, with the title “my favorite new product.” “I love red wine vinegar on a sandwich but I always soak the bread. This was a game changer for me,” continued the original poster. This spray looks to basically be a spray bottle version of Aldi’s existing Priano Red Wine Vinegar, and that’s…kind of the extent of the innovation here. No extra ingredients, no tweaking of the recipe, no reinventing the wheel in terms of flavor. Just vinegar, and a spray nozzle.
But – BUT! – this small move has people very excited. “I haven’t seen this either but I need it,” said another person. And think of the uses! Spraying vinegar onto fries or wedges instead of dousing them in vinegar keeps them crisp while awakening their flavor. Misting your salad greens stops your vinegar from pooling at the bottom of your bowl. Zhuzhing up seafood or meat with a light red wine vinegar moment will give them a pop of acidity without you having to worry about it pooling all over your proteins and unbalancing everything. I know it sounds a bit hyperbolic to get excited over a spray bottle, but this is a canny move, and Aldi customers are digging it.
But You Could Just Buy A Spray Bottle And Do This Yourself…
Yeah, of course you could. One person in the above Reddit thread said just that, and they also pointed out that it might be a more cost-effective option, as it doesn’t look like the spray bottle here is refillable. It would also, admittedly, be less wasteful. But if you’re in need of a quick spritz, Aldi’s got your back.
