If cheese and beans didn’t exist, Greek yogurt would probably be my favorite food. It’s creamy, it’s filling, and it’s great for both savory and sweet applications. Sometimes (like, a lot) I’ll start my day with Greek yogurt, apples, and honey, and then end it with tacos topped with a dollop of yogurt in lieu of sour cream. It’s truly the little black dress of foods.
Another great thing about Greek yogurt: It comes in a butt load of extremely delicious flavors. If you’re like me, you’re largely accustomed to eating plain Greek yogurt and flavored regular ol’ low-fat yogurt, like Yoplait. Well, flavored Greek yogurt is the absolute best of both worlds—creamy, rich, thick, and bursting with fruit flavor. We tasted yogurts in flavors it would truly never occur to me to buy at the grocery store, and ended up loving some unexpected ones. (Oh and if flavored Greek isn’t your bag, check out our ranking of the best plain Greek yogurts.)

- Oikos Lemon Meringue
-
Going into this taste test, I was pret-ty sure I wasn’t going to love a lemon-flavored yogurt, certainly not better than literally every other flavored yogurt on the tasting table, but this Oikos Lemon Meringue yogurt absolutely blew us away. The tartness of the lemon and the natural tartness of the rich, decadent yogurt are a match made in heaven. At the same time, the overall tartness is tempered by the creamy meringue flavor they managed to cram into this little cup. Honestly, you could scoop about ten cups of this into a pie crust and call it dessert. I’ve purchased this multiple times since our taste test. It’s just so damn good.

- The Greek Gods Peach with Honey
-
In general, peach is my favorite yogurt flavor and this is by far the best peach-flavored yogurt I’ve ever consumed. The yogurt itself is super thick, slick, and smooth, but the honey is the real star of the show. It gives this yogurt an intense sweetness that brings to life the peach flavor in such a brilliant way. In my notes, I literally wrote, “This is one of the best yogurts I’ve ever tasted in my life.” I’d take a 24-ounce tub of this over a pint of ice cream, maybe not any day but many days.

- Fage Total 2% with Mixed Berry
-
You’ve got your strawberry yogurt. You’ve got your blueberry yogurt. You’ve got your raspberry yogurt. Fage was like, what the hell, let’s just throw ’em all in there. And, frankly, the results are delicious. We tried several berry-flavored yogurts, but this one delivered the best berry flavor of them all, one that perfectly complements the thick, cool Fage yogurt. Also, I don’t think there’s any way you’d identify this as low-fat yogurt if it didn’t say 2% on the cup. If you’re a straight-up strawberry yogurt kind of person, give this a shot and I bet you’ll be a mixed-berry convert.

- Chobani Key Lime
-
Here we have another pie-flavored yogurt I’m convinced you could scoop into a pie crust and serve as dessert. Better yet, use this to make a deconstructed key lime pie parfait (a brilliant suggestion on the part of my colleague Jordan Myrick). Alternate layers of crushed-up graham crackers, white chocolate chips, and this custardy, sweet, and tart yogurt. I think my favorite part is that you can actually taste a little bit of rind-y bitterness in this yogurt so it’s not just a big ol’ sugar bomb. A nice touch that makes it even more like the pie it emulates.

- Open Nature Greek Strained Nonfat Vanilla Yogurt
-
Vanilla yogurt is a classic, and we were sort of surprised that this store-brand Greek yogurt rose to the top of the vanilla heap. “Eating this feels like you’re doing something bad,” Jordan said when they took a bite. Seriously, this is rich, creamy, and has even more vanilla flavor than most vanilla ice creams. An excellent choice for breakfast or dessert.

- Trader Joe’s Greek Whole Milk Yogurt Coconut Cream
-
Another popular pie in a cup. If you love coconut cream pie, seriously, give this a shot. Upon first smell, the coconut essence can come off as a little suntan lotion-y, but the taste is sweet and decadent. Jordan imagines this would be good mixed with acai berries. I agree and think that goes for basically any tart fruit, from raspberries to mangoes. The possibilities are endless with this one.

You need to try the Chobani Vanilla Greek Yogurt Mixed Berry (There may be other flavors but I haven’t found any). This is a really great Greek yogurt because it’s a little sweeter and packed with flavor.
