Best Office Snacks: 8 Things to Munch on at Work

The best office snacks are ones that you can munch on mindlessly to help you power through the day. There is, however, a wide variety of snacks one may find/keep at work. For example, when I last worked in an office, my best desk snacks always looked a little different than the cabinets that held the snacks for the entire office. Let me explain to you what I mean…

Welch’s Mixed Fruit Snacks

As I so often say, the best office snacks come in little pouches. Fruit snacks are great work snacks because of their shareability and their size. If an impromptu video call pops up, fruit snacks are a lot easier to tuck away than an entire bowl of soup. Senior staff writer Jordan Myrick put Welch’s Mixed Fruit snacks in the top spot in their best fruit snack ranking. “They are the most classic, fruit snack-y tasting fruit snacks you can possibly imagine,” they wrote. Jordan is right—they’re a classic for a reason!

Elevation Chocolate Peanut Butter High Protein Bar

A top-tier desk snack is something that will get you over the hump of missing breakfast and propel you straight into lunchtime. Protein bars are perfect for those sorts of days. Danny Palumbo had great things to say about Elevation’s Chocolate Peanut Butter High Protein Bar in Sporked’s best protein bar ranking. “There’s 20 grams of protein in this thing,” he writes. That’s an impressive amount of fuel for a desk snack, if you ask me.

Chomps Beef Stick

You might love the greasy, spicy nature of a Slim Jim, but that could turn other people off. Chomps beef sticks are a much better option if you’re stocking office snacks for everyone. Every beef eater will love these—they come in a variety of flavors and have big, beefy flavor. “Chomps is a top of the line product that’s salty, savory, meaty, and delicious,”Danny wrote in his ranking of the best beef sticks. These’ll tide you over until you can clock out!

Rice Krispies Treats

Last summer, managing editor Gwynedd Stuart asked everyone in the office what their go-to office snack was, and I picked Rice Krispies Treats. These boys are so good and crunchy, I used to eat more of them before lunchtime hit than I’d care to admit. They’re so light and airy it’s easy to forget how many you’ve eaten (unless your desk has become a graveyard of Rice Krispies Treats wrappers.

Flipz Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Pretzels are a great office snack any way you slice it, but when they’re dipped in chocolate, they can make the workday that much sweeter. In our ranking of the best chocolate covered pretzels, Jordan wrote, “The ratio of chocolate to pretzel is perfect. There’s a great balance of salt and sweet.” Can you hear that? It’s the sound of productivity reaching 100% once these are stocked in the office kitchen.

Strawberry Pop-Tart

The cabinets at Mythical are always stocked with all kinds of goodies. This includes a nice frosted strawberry Pop-Tart. In the best Pop-Tart ranking, Jordan Myrick sings high praises of the strawberry flavor and says they are even better toasted. “Toasted, they feel almost like a pastry from a bakery,” they write. If your office has a toaster, you’re going to want to hop on this one.

Dave’s Killer Bread Epic Everything Bagel

Is any office truly complete without a bag of bagels on the kitchen counter? The best office snacks are ones you can put cheese on, and that includes a good bagel. In Sporked’s best bagel ranking, Danny Palumbo determined that Dave’s Killer Everything bagels are the best you can grab at the grocery store. “The texture of these pre-sliced bagels is really nice and chewy. And the everything seasoning really shines, especially when toasted,” he wrote. The two things we look for in the best office snacks are big flavor and low effort. Get you a bagel that does both.

Mini Babybel

Speaking of cheese, these itty-bitty, wax-covered wheels of cheese are my favorite office snack of all time. Early last year, I wrote about some of the best snacking cheeses, and Babybel just had to be on the list. These cheeses are usually stocked in the Mythical office fridge, and they’re so practical because the wax coating allows you to hold the cheese without getting cheesy fingers. The last thing I want in life is a cheesy keyboard.
