Sugar free food can be hit or miss. Some of it has that bad artificial sweetener aftertaste. Some of it just isn’t sweet enough. Yes, there are a lot of products we’ve tasted and ranked that are incidentally sugar free, but if you’re cutting out sugar for dietary or health reasons, there are some intentionally sugar free products we highly recommend. From chocolate candy to yogurt to coffee creamer, these are the best sugar free foods we’ve tried in our taste tests.
- Chobani Zero Sugar Strawberry
-
When it comes to the best sugar free yogurt, standard fruit flavors are your friend. I know, you’re like—strawberry yogurt, snooze alert. But if you’re looking for a sugar free Chobani option with as little of that sugar-free aftertaste as possible, this is pretty decent.

- Jell-O Sugar Free Vanilla Instant Pudding
-
If you’re at all accustomed to the taste of artificial sweeteners, Jell-O sugar free pudding is a really tasty treat. Both the chocolate and vanilla varieties taste good, but vanilla has just a little bit less of that saccharine aftertaste—it’s very smooth and balanced, and it could easily be confused for full-sugar pudding. Top it with some zero sugar whipped cream and you’re in business (now all we need are zero sugar maraschino cherries).

- Jordan’s Skinny Syrups Caramel Pecan
-
Torani is, arguably, the biggest name in the coffee syrups, but Jordan’s beat Torani at its own game with this zero sugar Caramel Pecan syrup. The caramel flavor is more prominent than the pecan flavor, which is nice since fake nutty flavors can be kind of overwhelming—this is pleasantly sweet and toasty without being cloying. (But hey, if you insist on Torani, their sugar free Salted Caramel is our favorite of theirs.)

- Chosen Foods Lemon Garlic Salad Dressing & Marinade
-
You’re probably like, yes, duh, why would salad dressing contain sugar anyway? Well, you’d be surprised how many salad dressings have a heaping helping of the sweet stuff—even ranch dressing has a little bit of shoog. Buy this Chosen Foods vinaigrette and eat a salad without fear of spiking your blood sugar. It’s acidic, rich, and has a garlicky flavor we found totally irresistible. It’s a must-love-garlic kind of dressing, but if toum is your condiment of choice, you’ll love this sugar free salad dressing.

- Brach’s Sugar Free Gummy Bears
-
We’re not confectioners or anything, but it seems safe to assume that regular gummy bears are approximately 99 percent sugar. That’s part of what makes these Brach’s sugar free gummy bears so impressive. They’re a sugar free food, but they’re sweet and satisfying and don’t leave much of an aftertaste in your mouth. They’re squishy and fruity and will absolutely scratch that itch for gummy bears when you need a sweet pick-me-up.

- Tillamook Zero Sugar Teriyaki Beef Jerky
-
Teriyaki beef jerky can be packed with sugar, but this Tillamook jerky manages to be delicious without the sugar. It leans hard into the savory end of the teriyaki flavor spectrum—basically, you have to love soy sauce to love this, but if you’re in the mood for something salty and high protein, this is a great sugar free product.

- Orbit Sugar-Free Spearmint Gum
-
The best sugar free gum doesn’t have sugar, but it does have a few important things: longevity, impeccable flavor, and a chew that doesn’t exhaust you after just a few minutes in your maw. Orbit’s zero sugar spearmint gum checked all those boxes for us. It has a bright, lovely spearmint flavor that freshens your bread and lingers longer and stronger than spearmint gum we tried from Mentos, Ice Breakers, and Pur. As the lady from the Orbit commercials would say, it’s “fabulous.”

- Russell Stover Sugar Free Assorted
-
Yes, sugar free food includes candy—and the best sugar free chocolate candy we tried in our taste test is this assortment from Russell Stover. The mix we tried came with dark chocolate mint patties, pecan delights, peanut butter cups, and chocolate-covered coconut and caramel candies. Everything is pretty good considering the chocolate is made with stevia instead of sugar, but the pecan delights are the real standout. They’re nutty, chewy, and they don’t taste too much like artificial sweetener. This assortment is one of our favorite sugar free products for a reason.

- Nutpods Almond + Coconut Toasted Marshmallow
-
Most sugar free coffee creamers are loaded with artificial sweeteners, but not this one. It’s a totally unsweetened mix of almond and coconut milks, but it still has a pleasant marshmallowy flavor that suggests sweetness without being saccharine. Plus, it’s totally plant based. If you’re cutting out sugar and animal products, this is the best sugar free product you can buy.

- Zero Sugar Oreos
-
Oreos are cookies for the people, and now they’re for even more of the people. We tried these sugar free Oreo cookies in December and couldn’t believe how good they are. Our reviewer, Griffin Parker, actually liked them better than regular Oreos because they have a more amplified chocolate-y flavor.

- Celsius Sparkling Orange
-
All Celsius energy drinks are sugar free (hooray), but we particularly love their Sparkling Orange flavor. If you have a hankering for orange soda, you might not like this. It has a mild orange flavor, sort of like orange Vitamin Water, but with a little bit of carbonation to brighten it up even more. If you want a bold, wild sugar free energy drink, grab a can of Ghost, which comes in flavors like Bubblicious Cotton Candy and Warheads Sour Watermelon. But if you want something simpler and more refined, Celsius Sparkling Orange is the best sugar free bev for you.

- Popsicle Sugar Free Tropicals
-
These sugar free Popsicles knocked our socks off. They come in three flavors: Hawaiian Pineapple, Tropical Orange, and Caribbean Punch. All of them are great, but the guava-forward Caribbean Punch is the best by far. If you’re in the mood for something refreshing as hell, this is one of the best sugar free foods we’ve tasted.
