Burger King’s international menu is quite the canvas, people. The fast food chain’s worldwide output is diverse, to say the least, and in the last couple of months, it’s taken some pretty big swings with it. It must be said that not all of them have felt like the kind of things we’d order again and again – BK Japan’s Pickleball Burgers and naked beef patties weren’t quite what we were in the market for, and its recent Avengers: Doomsday menu in India has been causing a real stir online – but you know what? It’s not doing things by BLves, and we admire it.

Its latest international drop, though, walks a tightrope between innovation and enjoyment, and makes it all the way to the other side without a scratch. I’m desperate to try this one.
Burger King UK’s Christmas Menu
Burger King UK has just announced its Christmas menu – which is, incidentally, the first one it’s ever launched in the country – and the star of the show is a burger that feels wildly classy by fast food standards. Introducing its Ultimate Camembert Wagyu, a sandwich made with a 100% British wagyu beef patty, with a disc of crispy fried camembert perched on top, and topped with truffle black pepper mayo, tomato cranberry ketchup, and arugula (or, as we call it here in the UK, rocket).
Let’s just take a beat with all this. Wagyu? Camembert? Truffle black pepper mayo? This thing is class on class on class, and BK’s pulling out all the stops to make it both as festive and as upmarket as possible. Admittedly, this sounds like a busy burger, with a lot of competing flavors – but it’s more exciting than anything else I’ve spotted on festive fast food menus so far over here in the UK.
For people who would prefer their burgers camembert-less, Burger King UK’s regular Wagyu burger is on its way back for the holidays. Its Big King burger, meanwhile, has been given a festive glow-up, and folks will have the option to add five onion rings to it to make a loaded sandwich. Oh, and the crowning touch? A chocolate orange cheesecake dessert option.
There’s Just One Problem…
Burger King UK’s new festive options sound very tasty indeed, but the prices had me shocked, people. I did a quick check online to see how much it would cost me if I were to pick up its Ultimate Camembert Wagyu today at a restaurant near me, and it’s £11.49 for the sandwich alone, and £15.19 for a large meal. That’s just over $15 for a burger. For a Burger King burger! I guess inflation is coming for us all, no matter where we are.
Regardless, I still wanna get my mouth around this bad boy. I don’t know if I can justify the cost, but it’s ticking every one of my boxes.
