Earlier this month, the nutheads at Blue Diamond Almonds announced that their scientists had created Cherry Slurpee flavored almonds. Per the official press release, these almonds contain “the sweet pop of cherry that’s kept Slurpee drink fans coming back over the years.” Do these nuts live up to that brave description? Let’s find out.
Where can I get these new Slurpee almonds for myself?
Blue Diamond’s Cherry Slurpee flavored almonds are available exclusively at the 7-Eleven family of stores (aka all 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes’ locations). While you’re looking for these unique nuts, keep an eye out for the new Green Day branded cotton candy grape Slurpee flavor exclusive to those same stores. I’ll be reviewing it for Sporked as soon as I can get my hands on it.
Plus, along with these Cherry Slurpee almonds, 7-Eleven launched a collaboration with Mini Melts based on the classic Blue Raspberry Slurpee. (For the uninitiated, Mini Melts produces beaded ice cream much like Dippin’ Dots.) Let me know in the comments if I should review that frozen treat-flavored frozen treat here on Sporked.
Is Slurpee a flavor now?
It must be, because we’ve seen multiple Slurpee-flavored products rock the boat at this point. Last year, I had the honor of reviewing both Cherry Slurpee flavored Twinkiesand a Blue Raspberry Slurpee flavored Drumstick ice cream cone. Both were very interesting. While I’m not sure how we got to the point in history where Slurpee is a flavor, I’ve sincerely enjoyed every single one of these collaborations.
