I’ve talked about the standard “beverage news” ecosystem before: Either a little birdie sends me an early sneak peek or the brand sends me a press release with an embargo date. In 99% of cases, those are the two ways in which I find out about drinks. But every once in a while, a drink sneaks up on me—literally, in the case of this new 7-Eleven drink.
There I am, in a 7-Eleven just outside Chicago, when I see a new promotional sticker slapped on a fridge door. This sticker is promoting an upcoming addition to 7-Eleven’s in-house Replenish hydration drink line. The flavor? Slurpee. Specifically, the flavor is supposed to be “Slurpee Mix-Up Cherry & Blue Raspberry,” a not-entirely-unheard-of combination for hydration drinks. Gatorade actually released a “Cool Blue Cherry” a few years ago. (Gatorade will be releasing a few new mashup flavors this year. Check out our own Tyler Bowers’ piece on those upcoming Gatorade flavors.)
What is a “Replenish” drink?
Replenish is 7-Eleven’s in-house brand of hydration drinks. The “7-Select” line (similar to Bettergoods at Walmart or Private Selection at Kroger) is a cheaper alternative to your name-brand options for snacks and sips like chips, hot dog-flavored waters, teas, all sorts of candy, and more. Replenish is 7-Select’s response to Gatorade, and they’re no stranger to interesting, limited-edition flavors, either. Last year, they released a pretty great Rocket Pop flavor in the summer and a pretty weird Caramel Apple flavor in the fall.
Is Slurpee a flavor now?
Slurpee has actually been a flavor for close to a year now! Long-time followers of my Sporked adventures will recall a few different Slurpee-flavored treats I’ve had the honor of reviewing. Back in June 2024, I got to try the “Slurpee Blue Raspberry” flavored Drumstick ice cream cone. A month later, I got to try what I can only assume was the intended companion snack: the “Slurpee Cherry” Twinkie! Both of those were good, if strange, so I’m looking forward to seeing what 7-Eleven has up their sleeves with this new concept.
When and where will I be able to find this new 7-Eleven drink on shelves?
Hypothetically? Now! That promotional sticker had a “put on the fridge door” date of March 5th, 2025. I can’t imagine they want this sticker up too long outside the actual dates of the flavor’s availability, so I’d expect to see this start popping up very soon.
Where exactly will it pop up? All chains underneath the 7-Eleven umbrella, of course! For the less chain-minded, that means this drink should be available at 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes.
