If this was on your bingo card, it’s time to buy a lottery ticket. Yes, Monster Energy is tackling Dubai Chocolate through their Java Monster canned coffee line. I was lucky enough to secure an early sample can of this upcoming trend-chaser; let’s find out whether Dubai Chocolate is worth keeping around in 2026.

New Java Monster!

Pros: If you’ve spent any time in the exceptionally niche Java Monster conversation pits online, you know the discontinued Swiss Chocolate Java Monster is deeply missed by folks who say Loca Moca just doesn’t hit the same. If you’re part of any petitions trying to bring S.C. back, this new release may fill the gap in your heart for a luxurious, layered chocolate coffee drink from Monster.

Pistachio is as prominent a flavor as chocolate in this drink, making for a solid recreation of the flavor ratio in the original jumbo-stuffed bars that started the trend… even if later developments changed that ratio significantly. While Java Monster isn’t my go-to subline from the energy brand, this would be a great addition to any canned coffee line. (200mg of caffeine ain’t nothing, either.)

Cons: Ignoring how late this drink is to the party (and let me tell you, this is late), there’s really only one standout issue with this new Monster coffee. This is the first Dubai Chocolate product I’ve encountered that completely lacks the crunchy kataifi texture which defines the original concept. I know “Pistachio Chocolate” isn’t as buzzy a name, but at this point, it might raise fewer eyebrows. (Seriously, this drink has become a running gag in the comments on anything I post about Monster.)

When can I get my hands on Java Monster Dubai Chocolate?

I secured this early sample can from a friend in the industry, but you won’t have to wait too long to try this for yourself. Per our sources, Java Monster Dubai Chocolate should begin to hit shelves the first week of October (alongside both full and Zero Sugar versions of the new “Vanilla Shot” Monster Energy, which I also have early cans of–stay tuned for that review).
