Well, people, it’s time to get in the holiday spirit. Food brands everywhere are instructing us to, and who are we to shy away? And today, “get in the holiday spirit” means “look at all the strange festive hybrids that everyone’s releasing.” We’ve had a fair few of ‘em so far, with Oreo candy cane cereal, candy canes with Snickers flavors, and a couple of non-candy-cane-related items in there, too.

Dunkin’s latest drop exists very much in this hybrid vein, and to be totally honest, I’m not quite sure what to make of it all. Regardless, its Christmas coffees are here, and if you’re hankering for a bit of Christmas in your cup, you might be interested.
Dunkin’ Festive Coffee Blends
Now, to preface all of this: We’re not discussing the holiday menu in its restaurants here. Instead, we’re discussing its ground coffee blends, two of which have started to appear in grocery stores nationwide. As @candyhunting revealed, Dunkin’s just dropped a new Frosted Sugar Cookie coffee flavor, alongside its returning White Chocolate Peppermint flavor. Coming in bags and in K-cups, they promise to inject a bit of festive joy into your drink, without the need for syrups or creamers (although you can obviously double down and add those, too – all bets are off when it comes to Christmas).
Now, look. I’m a little bit of a coffee snob. Not a major one, but I invest in my morning traditions. I have a bean grinder; I let the kettle cool off just so before I pour the water in, and I bloom. I like the aroma, the flavor, the bitterness, the complexity. So, the thought of a blend that tastes like sugar cookies or white chocolate peppermint does slightly strike fear into my heart, even if I’m partial to a syrup or a pumpkin spice here and there.
But I must report that a lot of people do like these coffees, and Dunkin’s White Chocolate Peppermint was a bona fide hit with customers last year, with high ratings across the board in reviews and with people loving the gently sweet notes it brought to the table, as well as its wholly Christmassy scent. So, in short: Even if this isn’t for me, it may well be for you.
And It’s Available Now?
It’s available now. Dunkin’s new and returning coffee blends are available at Hy-Vee and other retailers. This is just the start, too: Dunkin’ will no doubt be digging in, both thoroughly and merrily, throughout the festive period, and we’re sure there’ll be much more to come from the chain.
