Mid-to-late July isn’t known for being the most easy going of summer months. For most of us, temperatures continue to rise (and/or clouds of Canadian wildfire smoke appear and disappear). All of the above is why mid-to-late July is also a very nice time indeed to find out a favorite fast casual sub shop is offering us all a bit of a break on their to-the-rescue, beefy forearm-vibe subs: from now until the end of July, from Thursday through Saturday, customers can get half off their entire order after 8PM. If that isn’t a deal worth risking the sticky heat for, we don’t know what is.

Of course it’s no shock that when Firehouse Subs offers a “fire deal,” they’re pretty darn serious about it. (They’re also, clearly, serious about the name “Mike”―and variations thereof.) The nationwide mega chain was, indeed, founded by two firefighters: brothers Robin and Chris Sorensen. Best guess is they don’t use words like “fire” lightly. And 50% off all orders is among the better July/summer-season discounts we’ve seen. 

FYI, the offer says the deal is “valid on online or mobile app orders,” so it’s a wise play to check with your local Firehouse Subs if your plan was to order in person. Not that that should be a major stumbling block―the Firehouse Subs website makes ordering online pretty easy. Your Jamaican Jerk Turkey, Smokin’ Honey Steak Melt, or Hook & Ladder sub will be ready for you when you get there. And again, it’s 50% off. 

Going To A Good Cause

There’s plenty to like about the deal―the whopping 50% off, or the fact that it kicks in after 8PM (meaning by the time you’re chowing down, the temps are down). But another (big) reason to enjoy the deal and Firehouse Subs: a portion of their profits go to a great organization―The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

Just like the sub chain itself, The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation was started by firefighter brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, who, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, traveled to Mississippi to feed first responders and survivors. That trip became the inspiration for their foundation, which provides everything from lifesaving equipment and disaster relief to much needed communities, as well as education and scholarships to ensure safe communities supported by well-trained first responders going forward. $100 million has been donated to first responders to date.
