Less than two weeks ago, I drew attention to the peculiar fact that I only ever cover Girl Scout cookie-flavored products, not the cookies themselves. One week ago, I covered the news that the Girl Scouts of the USA revealed Exploremores, a brand new sandwich cookie (presumably in response to my questioning) launching during the 2026 cookie season. Today? I’ve got early samples of that new Girl Scout cookie. Y’all, this is a highlight in my career.
Before we get started, I have to thank Girl Scouts of the USA for sending over these cookies. Stay tuned later this year for an update to our Girl Scout cookie ranking and a full rundown of every cookie you’ll be able to order in 2026!
Pros: Per the description on the box, these rocky road ice cream-inspired cookies are “filled with flavors of chocolate, marshmallow, and toasted almond crème.” They’re not kidding. This is a shockingly complex sandwich cookie. One of my favorite Oreos of all time was 2019’s “Marshmallow Moon,” which commemorated the 50th anniversary of the moon landing with marshmallow-flavored creme; anything close to that is going to be a winner in my book. The cookie wafers themselves are a little softer than you’d expect, bringing the texture of the cookie closer to the ice cream that inspired the flavor. I hope we see this cookie stick around for a while—and maybe get its own variant a la Raspberry Rally.
Cons: Not to sound cliché, but these still aren’t Thin Mints. These have not dethroned the king, and there’s no shame in that.

When can I get Exploremores for myself?
Exploremores will be available for purchase during the 2026 Girl Scout cookie-selling season. If you don’t have a Girl Scout in your life (and you’re scared of the ones that pop up outside the grocery store), you can order cookies online for delivery. When cookie season starts next year, consider ordering from Troop 6000: a troop based in New York City whose membership consists of girls living in the shelter system.
Will you be buying Exploremores when the Girl Scouts start peddling them?
