Hallelujah, the day has finally come: Gatorade mixed Glacier Freeze and Glacier Cherry into a single bottle. As I said in my very first article for Sporked, Glacier Cherry is my favorite Gatorade flavor by a country mile. I then doubled down on that opinion in my review of the first two Gatorade Mashups earlier this year, stating that classic Glacier Cherry is still better than the best Mashup. Gatorade is calling my bluff with the topic of today’s review; let’s find out if adding Sporked’s #1 blue Gatorade to the all-time best Gatorade is too much of a good thing.
Pros: This might be the new best blue Gatorade in my eyes. Adding cherry to the ambiguously-blue Glacier Freeze results in a fantastic snow cone-esque feeling. (I can’t wait for Gatorade to get their hands on the cooling effect used in Sprite Chill.) This is easily my favorite Gatorade Mashup released to date.
Cons: It’s still not as good as standard Glacier Cherry. I think sports drinks have peaked, y’all. That said, I’m filing a formal request for a Glacier Freeze/Glacier Cherry Gatorlyte. The extra-salty, high-electrolyte Gatorlytes are secretly the best line of drinks from Gatorade; I want to see more innovation in that lineup ASAP.

What’s coming down the line from Gatorade?
Per my fellow Sporked writer Tyler Bowers, we should see a collaboration between Stranger Things and Gatorade hit shelves very soon to coincide with the launch of the final season. Gatorade is launching two limited-time-only flavors as part of this collaboration: the previously-discontinued ‘80s favorite “Citrus Cooler” (featuring an equally-discontinued ‘80s logo) and a brand new “Upside Down Citrus Cooler,” which will feature an entirely upside-down label design. We don’t know the flavor profile of the latter just yet, but a blood orange Citrus Cooler feels mighty appropriate for this particular collaboration.

He's sacrificed countless hours in the pursuit of ranking Lindt Lindor truffles, HI-CHEW candies, and more. When he's not writing for Sporked or running @SodaSeekers, you can find Griffin espousing the virtues of Dayton-style pizza, Cincinnati-style chili, and Dolly Parton's Fabulously Double Fudge Brownie Mix.
