Fans Have Spotted a New Cookie Mix at Trader Joe’s: Cookies & Creme

We can’t decide whether we love or dislike the way that Trader Joe’s releases new items, which it usually does without any prior warning whatsoever (and to be fair, this isn’t really any different from other stores). We love what happens after these new treats appear on its shelves, prompting its customers to swap sightings and knowledge of them like treasured lore, all adding to that community spirit. We do dislike, however, that we can’t try these new items first. Yes, it’s greedy. But there we are.

We were reminded of this balancing act of likes and dislikes afresh when Trader Joe’s customers spotted a new cookie mix in stores. Introducing the Cookies & Creme Cookie Mix, which has TJ’s fans all aflutter.

Cookies & Creme Cookie Mix: A New Favorite?

The arrival of Trader Joe’s Cookies & Creme Cookie Mix broke as it so often does: With a post on the Trader Joe’s subreddit. A customer posted pictures of these new cookie mix boxes stacked on shelves, each one priced at $3.99, with enough mix for around 12 cookies per box. As for the cookies themselves, they’re a classic baked cookie, with chocolate sandwich creme cookie pieces and white chocolate chips. TJ’s has helpfully included instructions for both regular cookies and cookie bars on the back. We would like to try both, thank you.

Trader Joe’s regulars will be able to spot the inspiration for this one: It looks as though this new cookie mix might be based on the flavor of its Cookies ‘n Cream Mini Sheet Cake. We do think the cookies give a bit more bang for your buck, though: that sheet cake costs $5.99 for 6 servings. And let’s be honest, will you actually get six servings out of it? Plus, by accounts, the Cookies & Creme cookies taste way better.

They Taste Better, You Say?

Yes. I do say. In the Reddit post sharing news of their arrival, one commenter piped up to say that they had already tried the cookies – and that they were very good indeed. “One of our crew members baked them for us tonight,” they stated, also posting a picture of one of the cookies, which looked appropriately large and delicious. “Super tasty! Better than the Cookies & Cream sheet cake imo.”

Well. That’s us sold. It’s just created another reason to make a trip to TJ’s soon, to be honest, and those reasons are mounting up: it looks like a new lemon tiramisu is about to drop there, and it might also be worth checking out its new ham sandwich (although some people aren’t impressed). Plus, if you don’t have a Trader Joe’s near you, that might change soon. It’s about to open almost 20 new stores in 12 states. They’re busy over there.
