New Peanut Butter Drumsticks Are a Must Buy for Peanut Butter Lovers

There’s two special kinds of reviews I’m tasked with here at Sporked. There’s the “go suffer for our amusement” kind, reserved for things like pizza-flavored soda or pizza-flavored beer. On the other end of the spectrum, there are the “make sure it’s good” reviews, which are products that have to be good—but we need to make sure for science. Today’s subject is absolutely one of the latter types of reviews.

Our friends at Drumstick sent over their new “We Love Peanut Butter” pack. Do these two new Drumstick flavors live up to the exuberant tagline? There’s only one way to find out—and lucky for me, it involves eating ice cream. Here’s hoping this one is a little better than the Slurpee-flavored Drumstick I had last year.

Peanut Butter Drumstick

Pros: Both Peanut Butter Drumsticks feature a core of frozen peanut butter, which sounds like the hardest thing in the world to eat. While it’s definitely firm right out of the freezer, it’s not impossible to bite through—an important factor for a treat with a high probability of melting all over your hand. As you can imagine, pretty much everything here works; adding peanut butter to an ice cream cone with a peanut chunk coating only amplifies the existing flavors that we already knew worked.

Cons: Y’all, if this is peanut butter ice cream, it’s the least peanut butter-y peanut butter ice cream I’ve ever had. It’s still good (obviously), but I didn’t expect to say, “I wish there was more peanut butter flavor” after trying a Peanut Butter Drumstick.

New Drumstick Flavor!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Drumstick

Pros: I definitely preferred the Chocolate Peanut Butter Drumstick to the other flavor. The chocolate ice cream just makes it pop in a major way. Chocolate ice cream, chocolate coating, peanut butter core, peanut bits in the coating—everything here is a winning selection.

Cons: Trying to think of a negative thing to say about this ice cream cone might be the most difficult thing I’ve ever done here at Sporked. It did make me think of a few more Drumstick variants I’d like to see in the future, if that counts. Can we do a Peanut Butter and Jelly Drumstick next?
