Folks, this could be it for me. Within the next few days, I’ll be starting a new medication that could have drastic effects on my ability to consume caffeine. (Believe it or not, the medication has nothing to do with the ridiculous kinds of food and drink I review for you good people.) I’ll spare you the full medical details, but there is a slim chance I’ll soon have to quit energy drinks indefinitely on doctor’s orders.

As the only person to review new Red Bull releases for Sporked since mid-2024, I wanted to mark this fork in the road by reviewing three Red Bull flavors in less than 24 hours–a new record. Yesterday, I published my reviews of this year’s Winter Edition: Pistachio & Berries; today, I’m tackling something much older. This year’s Red Bull Advent Calendar features the long-awaited exclusive return of Red Bull Winter Edition 2020: Arctic Berry.

Since Red Bull was nice enough to send that Advent Calendar to yours truly, I decided to celebrate my potential retirement from the game with a flavor that predates my existence in the field entirely. I never tried Red Bull Winter Edition 2020 during the initial run, and fan opinion on the flavor is mixed enough that I truly have no idea what to expect here. Let’s find out if Red Bull was right to keep Arctic Berry in the vault until now.

Red Bull Festive Edition 2026: Arctic Berry

Old Red Bull Flavor!

Pros: Arctic Berry Red Bull is a very raspberry-forward energy drink with a menthol-esque cooling effect. As such, this tastes like winter itself, rather than a flavor or combination of flavors we associate with wintertime. Instead of a candy-esque blue raspberry, this drink has a super authentic red raspberry flavor (despite the blue can) that I definitely prefer to the blue-raspberry energy drinks offered by nearly every one of Red Bull’s competitors.

Cons: While I appreciate the authentic raspberry flavor, its strength, combined with that cooling effect, makes it feel like drinking liquid Altoids. As mint’s biggest hater alive, I’m just glad this likely helped create Red Bull’s best flavor to date… Winter Edition 2024: Iced Vanilla Berry. To quote a friend, “This walked so Iced Vanilla Berry could run.” (Seriously, they’re both berry Red Bull flavors with a cooling effect in light blue cans; Iced Vanilla Berry is definitely Arctic Berry 2.0, and we should all be grateful for the upgrade.)
