While everyone’s oohing and aahing over Shake Shack’s newest holiday milkshake, I’ve got a secret to share: they’ve also added three new lemonades to the menu. Sure, lemonade doesn’t scream “winter holidays”, but who doesn’t want a refreshing sweet-and-sour sip to complement a burger? Thanks to Shake Shack for sending over a gift card to try them; let’s see if these new lemonades are worth the squeeze.
- Shake Shack Blood Orange Cranberry Lemonade Review

New Shake Shack Lemonade!
-
Pros: This permanent new addition to the Shake Shack drink lineup adds real blood orange and cranberry juices to the base recipe of lemon juice concentrate and cane sugar. The result is a vibrant, “real”-tasting lemonade that pairs well with Shake Shack’s savory menu.
Cons: Shake Shack’s base lemonade is already respectably tart, so adding blood orange and cranberry really ramps up that tartness factor to 11. I enjoyed it in moderation, but my co-taster gave this one a very squinty face on our shared lemonade quest.

- Shake Shack Strawberry Lemonade Review

New Shake Shack Lemonade!
-
Pros: As the only lemonade in the trio made with puree rather than juice, this limited-edition strawberry lemonade has a slightly thicker texture. (Unless you drink all three of these in quick succession like me, you’ll never notice.) While you might think the strawberry will lend a sweetness, the end result is actually just differently tart! Again, I’m a fan, but your mileage will depend on how much you enjoy minimally sweet lemonades.
Cons: This is also the only lemonade in the trio explicitly labeled as limited edition, and I have no clue why. Strawberry Lemonade feels more widely appealing than Blood Orange Cranberry; maybe strawberry puree is harder to keep in regular rotation than fruit juices?

- Shake Shack Pink Lemonade Review

New Shake Shack Lemonade!
-
Pros: Alright, before you read any further, take a moment to guess what Shake Shack added to this lemonade to make it pink. Ready?
Pomegranate juice. Sure! This permanent menu addition reads like a pleasant pink lemonade, even if we don’t actually know what pink lemonade is.
Cons: This is definitely the only lemonade in today’s trio I’d label as “sweet” with no asterisks. If that’s all you’re looking for in a lemonade, I’m not entirely sure you like lemonade, but this will be perfect for you!
This is my favorite of the three just on account of being the easiest to drink, but I enjoyed them all… right up until I realized I couldn’t taste anything but lemons.
