Mountain Dew is feeling very patriotic this year (as is Gatorade, Monster, Chobani, Pillsbury, and pretty much every other food and drinks brand out there). As we come ever closer to the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, Mtn Dew is going hard with products that feel in keeping with the vibe around July 4, and a couple of weeks ago, it dropped American Dew, complete with a sweepstakes.

And now, we’ve received word that one of our favorite Mountain Dew flavors in recent memory will be returning – but this time, it’ll be in frozen form. Star Spangled Splash may well be coming back, and we’re excited.
Star Spangled Flash (Frozen Version)
According to a tip from our anonymous source and rumblings on social media, Mountain Dew Star Spangled Splash will be making a comeback as a slushie. The scuttlebutt is that it will be available exclusively at Circle K at its Froster machines. The convenience store chain has recently emerged as an unlikely place for drinks exclusives, what with the new Monster Ultra Punk Punch flavor arriving there before anywhere else earlier this year. Clearly, someone at Circle K is putting in the work to boost its drinks prospects, and we love ‘em for it – and given that it had Mountain Dew Summer Sparkler last year, we can see this happening.
As for verified release information (like date, price, and availability), we can’t give you much on that just yet. We would imagine, though, that it’ll be available for a good few weeks before July 4, and will be a similar price to its other Frosters. And we would also imagine that it’ll taste pretty good.
And Why Do You Imagine That?
Because, dear reader, when Star Spangled Splash first came out in 2024, we absolutely loved it. This drink got a rare 10/10 rating in our taste test, thanks to its bold strawberry flavor and its gentle raspberry undertones. Yeah, if you don’t like strawberry drinks, you’re probably gonna hate it – but if you’re a fan of them, this one is a shining example of the form.
Star Spangled Splash definitely fared better than the other two drinks in Mountain Dew’s patriotic flavor drop, which also saw it bringing out Freedom Fusion and Liberty Chill (neither of which really pressed our buttons, if we’re being honest). We think they made the right call, and we’ll be waiting with bated breath to hear more about when it’s actually gonna drop. We’ll see you in line.
