We try a lot of fast food items here at Sporked. Trips through the drive thru are costing more and more these days so we have to start making cuts. We only have so much time and money to spend on the meals we can fit into our lives.

That’s why I figured it’s worth setting some time aside to take inventory of the best of the best. The real winners of the fast food industry so far this year. That way you know you’re in for a good time if you’re picking up one of these finds (if they’re still on the menu). Here are the best fast food items we’ve had so far in 2026.
Taco Bell Double Dipping Burritos with Split Dip Cup
This one earns a spot on the list for the very idea alone. The fact that you can get a burrito and dip it into a creamy sauce then dip that resulting creation into a cup of crispy, crunchy tortilla chip and cheese crumbs. What a beautiful world that we live in. Taco Bell really has a creative recipe for fun on their hands with these new split dip cups and we can’t wait to see what combos they come out with next.
Burger King’s Game Day Pretzel Burger
The greatest injustice that Burger King has ever done was introduce us to the Game Day Pretzel Burger without the promise of it lasting forever. Two cheeses (nacho cheese sauce and American cheese) dance beautifully atop a Burger King patty. Crispy onions then add in a bit of crunch that plays so nicely with the soft SuperPretzel bun. The resulting pretzel burger somehow forms into one of the best burgers we’ve had so far this year.
Jack in the Box Philly Cheesesteak
I’m as surprised as you are that a fast food company’s take on a regional food would be this dang good. It starts to make more sense when you look at the price tag. Jack in the Box’s Philly cheesesteak comes in at a whopping $12 but they earn every dollar. The seasoned shaved stake melts in your mouth with every bite and the roasted onions and pepper deliver a level of charred goodness that you can’t beat.
Whataburger Hot Honey Crisp Whatachick’n Sandwich
Whataburger was cooking up something mighty spicy when they created this hot honey crisp Whatachick’n sandwich. This sandwich starts with a potato bun and fills it with a chicken filet. One that’s drizzled with hot honey and a red pepper cheddar cheese spread that oozes out of the bun. It’s hard to do a spicy fast food item justice but Whataburger really did the job well this time.
Burger King Grogu’s Blue Cookie Shake
Grogu, you little genius. Burger King’s blue cookie shake combined vanilla soft-serve with blue-tinted sugar cookie syrup and a crumble of blue sugar cookies on top. Though you did need a large sweet tooth to tackle this one, it was well worth the trouble. As you can tell by the presence of my writing, sadly this soldier is long gone. We can only hope that there’s a reason for Burger King to pull this out of the vault sometime soon.
