Trader Joe’s New Cookies Already Have Fans Saying The Same Thing

Any moment Trader Joe’s releases new cookies is a good one. The store’s cookie selection is routinely excellent, with a few standouts that linger long in the memory (we voted its Aussie-Style Chocolate Creme Sandwich Cookies as number one in our Trader Joe’s cookie taste-test, and they’re a must for Tim Tam lovers). In the last week or so, it’s started to roll out its fall cookie offerings, and so far, they seem to be as reliable as ever: Its Oatmeal Cranberry Dunkers Cookies got another perfect score from us, and its new Cherry Pie Flavored Cookies are getting a perfect score from customers across the airwaves (and by the airwaves, we mean on Reddit).

Really, we mean it. People love these things. And here’s why.

Trader Joe’s Cherry Pie Flavored Cookies

Trader Joe’s new Cherry Pie Flavored Cookies have popped up in stores this week, and so far, it seems to have stuck the landing. These cookies, which come in at $4.49 for a nine-ounce tub, have a buttery base studded with white chocolate chips, cherry pie-flavored crunchy pieces, and dried Bing cherries. They have a speckled appearance and a vaguely confetti-ish vibe about them, even if said confetti is just one color. Look, that never ruined a celebration.

Reviews for these cookies have, so far, been enthusiastic to say the least. “I just picked these up and they are GOOD. Strong cherry flavor and the cookie base is nice and buttery,” said one person on Reddit, one of many to affirm how delicious they were. There’s a lovely combination of chewiness and crumbliness going on here, with the cookie base being akin to a shortbread, but without the density that can sometimes come with that biscuit style. Pleasingly, you also get a good quantity of cookies in each tub. No meager portions here, although we wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t feel like sharing these.

These cookies have the dreaded “limited time” sticker on their listing on the Trader Joe’s website – dreaded because this label often adorns the best Trader Joe’s items before they’re wrenched, cruelly, from its customers’ grasps. So if you want them, don’t dally. We’d imagine these will be around for fall, and then they’ll go to the product graveyard.
