I understand. You bought a grill that you were hoping to use every day. The weather’s been warm for a few weeks now but you’ve sadly yet to fire up the grill a single time. It’s a tale as old as time. Grills everywhere are begging to be used and an unexpected savior has come out of the shadows to give them new hope. Of all people, the venture group that brought us goop Kitchen (yes, that’s right) has backed a new project aimed at releasing a line of chicken sausages. You might actually be inspired to get back out there and get back to cookin’!

Launch Project Sausage!
Formally, it’s called The Sausage Project, but I imagine the previous phrase was used in their war room―saved only in times like these. The Sausage Project is a chef-crafted, better-for-you chicken sausage brand that has rolled out nationally at Walmart. Just in time to save the day? Well technically these did launch back in May so I think it’s fair to say they wanted to capture any and all business for the summer.
The Sausage Project aims to give sausages the modern treatment. All natural ingredients, healthy for you―and in bucking the usual trend―is actually price-conscious! We love to see a brand help the little people out. The lineup for their launch includes three flavors: classic roasted chicken sausage, Italian herb chicken sausage, and melty cheddar sausage.
Four High Quality Sausages For $7
It’s unfair to compare everything to the unbeatable $1.50 hot dog combo at Costco, but I just can’t help myself. It’s how I frame all wiener related things in my life. Less than $2 a link is still a heck of a good deal! The Sausage Project also has a lot more bells and whistles than a Costco dog. Each sausage that you can find in Walmart has 12 grams of protein per link and they’re lower in fat than the average sausage―but with the same classic snap, juiciness, and bold flavor you’d expect a sausage to have.
Why These Are So Convenient
Convenience seems to have been at the forefront when the masters were crafting these up in the kitchen. The sausages can be cooked up in four minutes so you can make them right after you get up in the morning or heat them for a quick dinner. I think the flavors also speak to having some flexibility in mind, too. Imagine having a plate of eggs alongside one of the melty cheddar links or pairing the Italian herb with a heaping plate of spaghetti.
The Sausage Project is already well underway. You should be able to find these stocked at your local Walmart when you head in store. If you don’t have a Walmart nearby, their online tracker also shows them in stock at plenty of other grocery stores as well.
