Yes, fast food is a deal in and of itself, but it’s always (oh, so always) nicer when our favorite, beloved fast food chains decide to shave off a few extra dollars (or fry up a few extra fries). In honor of “summer’s almost over and wow I really spent that much on crop tops, ice cream, and hard seltzer,” let’s all relax, cradle our wallets, and enjoy some of these deals―from the freshly fried to the luxuriously frozen.

Arby’s

Yes, “meat-and-three” is a thing (it’s actually an old school southern meal term, meaning a well-rounded plate of food with a main meat and three sides). And for a limited time, Arby’s is offering its own $7.99 “Meat & 3,” using basically the same principle―feature protein, small fries, 2-piece mozzarella sticks, a Peach Cobbler Roll, and a small drink.

Freddy’s

Granted, most people don’t claim to be deeply enthusiastic about frozen custard. But this is the perfect weekend to try it: Freddy’s is celebrating National Frozen Custard Day (August 8th) with deals from Friday through Sunday. (A large frozen custard at just $4? I’ll take eleven.) FYI you have to be a Freddy’s Loyalty rewards member―but, you’ll become a custard freak (that’s what we call ourselves) after this, so might as well sign up.

Dunkin’

Not quite a deal but don’t sleep on (since you won’t sleep after) the 48-ounce Dunkin Drink Buckets, which are back for a limited time at $12.99. There are 25 per store, and despite the fact that nobody knows what to do with 48 ounces’ worth of caffeinated chutzpah, they’re probably gonna go fast. And since that price includes the cost of so much liquid, you could theoretically make it last over the weekend.

KFC

You can get Kentucky-fried for just about $5 with the “Taste of KFC’s 2-Piece Deal.” For just $4.99 plus-tax, you get a drumstick and a thigh rounded out oh-so-comfortingly with mashed potatoes, gravy, and a biscuit.

7-Eleven

A brekkie quickie at just a buck? If you’re a 7Rewards member, yes! And not just for the weekend, either. As part of a back-to-school deal, 7-Eleven is rolling out discounted donuts (which all 7Rewards members are allowed to buy at any time of day, FYI, not just “donut-appropriate” hours).

Popeyes

This one might be on the threshold of “deal,” considering it’s $9.99 and kind of feeds one hungry person. Worth a try, since Popeye’s claims its tenders are upgraded. This deal (available through August 30th) gets you four tenders (classic, spicy, or blackened), plus a regular side, a regular drink, and a biscuit.

Burger King

Perhaps there is no better deal than “free.” So if you’re at all gustatorily loyal to the King, hit up your nearest BK for this limited-time offer of a free Whopper. All you have to do is send a (very specific, all caps) text and you’ll receive a link you can redeem for a deliciously $0 Whopper for up to two weeks.

Carl’s Jr.

BYOB. Okay, it’s not that kind of BYO―but it will get you fed for $5.99. Part of its Star Deals, the “Build-Your-Own-Bag” deal lets members of the chains’ My Rewards Program create their own low-cost combo from a tidy variety of classic Carl’s Jr options (to be honest, a Jalapeño Burger and a slice of Chocolate Cake sounds oddly perfect right now).

About the Author

Emily Bell

Emily has been writing about food and drink for a bunch of years now. (There WAS an "internet," we just used it by candlelight.) And while she's definitely eaten fancier food than she could ever personally afford, Emily actually has a deep-seated passion for bodegas, street meat, and basically the kinds of things you get to nosh on in a noisier kind of culinary life. She's unapologetically against macaroni salad and believes Sour Patch Kids are an acceptable substitute for cherry tomatoes in a salad.
