You gotta love Dunkin’―if not for their best bromance with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, then at least for the chain’s dedication to really diving into every new season. Dunkin’ goes hard―and it’s almost always fun, reliably colorful and sprinkled. And their their Halloween menu this year did not disappoint.

We’ve already tried their Terro-Misu Latte. But for my part, I love eating things (especially donuts) that are shaped to look like something else―even if that something else is (yes, I am a coward) a spider. Did this donut hold up to the rest of the 2026 spooky menu? Let’s get into it.

The Dunkin’ Spider Donut

Pros: If you’ve taken a look at this donut’s cute, beady, little eyes, you might better understand why I’m having trouble deeming the looks of this a pro or a con. Look, I don’t want to eat or even be near a spider. But given the Halloween season, and just how cute this little guy is, the whole look and gimmick for the Spider Donut is going in the pro column. Even though the donut is glazed with a periwinkle kind of purple, there’s no berry or grape flavor―which is perfect because it won’t stain your teeth or give an Easter season pastel vibe to what should be Halloween. The basic construction of our edible arachnid friend here is: yeasted donut, vanilla glaze, eight chocolate drizzle arms, and a chocolate donut hole for the spider’s head.

The flavor, texture, and simplicity of construction are all perfect. For awhile there, I feel like Dunkin’ got way too sweet with their donuts (personally, I’m a yeasted fan, but I’ll take a cake donut in a pinch). This yeasted donut is nicely balanced and not too sweet. Nor, by some witchy trick, is the icing too sweet, even with those eight legs of extra chocolate. Maybe something in the yeasted donut recipe changed or maybe Dunkin’ reduced the confectioners sugar in the glaze, but this donut has much-needed balance.

Cons: Look, I tried to find fault. Really the only con here―and with practice, I believe it’s surmountable―is that this donut is not easily dunkable. If you’re like me, this would have been the perfect donut to dip into some black coffee to naturally counterbalance all of that sugar. But for such a cute spider, this is a forgivable sin.

FINAL VERDICT

10/10

Sporks

It’s simple, it’s adorable, yes I’ve eaten a bunch of it and I’m still worried the remnants are gonna get up and skitter away―or straight onto my face. (Remember those jumping spiders?) But it’s perfect for what it is. This is an easy win for Dunkin’―fun for kids while miraculously not too sweet for adults. Odds are this donut is going to sell out fast before Halloween.
