Pop-Tarts have been toasted, frozen, and even turned into ice cream. But drinking one? That’s definitely a new one, at least for me. PRIME has teamed up with Pop-Tarts to turn one of the brand’s most popular pastries into a ready-to-drink protein shake.

Instead of biting into a Frosted Blueberry Pop-Tart, fans can now sip one. It might look like something dreamed up during a sugar rush, but the nutrition label says it’s not all that bad. If protein shakes have been feeling a little boring lately, this collaboration is here to shake things up.

Pop-Tarts Just Entered The Protein Game

PRIME has teamed up with Pop-Tarts to launch a brand-new line of protein shakes inspired by the famous toaster pastries. The new collection includes three flavors based on classic Pop-Tarts favorites: Frosted Blueberry, Frosted Strawberry, and Frosted Chocolate Fudge.

According to PRIME, all three flavors come in an 11-ounce can and contain the same nutrition profile, including 32 grams of protein, 3 grams of sugar, and 150 calories. The drinks are also lactose-free thanks to ultra-filtered milk, making them an option for people who avoid regular dairy products.

It might be one of the most unexpected food mashups of the year, but it’s also one that makes a surprising amount of sense given that PRIME has been going big on protein shakes lately, dropping the PRIME Shake + Creatine in March.

For anyone who loves the taste of Pop-Tarts but doesn’t always want all the sugar that comes with one, this could be an interesting alternative.

Social Media Already Has Opinions

As soon as the shakes appeared on social media, people wasted no time sharing their thoughts. Some fans on Instagram were instantly sold, saying they couldn’t wait to try them, especially the Frosted Chocolate Fudge flavor. An X user even said they are not a fan of Prime Hydrate, but they could get behind this new creation.

Of course, not everyone was convinced. Some commenters said this was a collaboration nobody asked for.

You’ll Have To Head To Target

Anyone ready to give these a try won’t have to hunt all over town. The PRIME x Pop-Tarts protein shakes have been spotted at multiple Target locations, where each can is expected to sell for about $2.99.

PRIME has never been afraid to try something different, but turning Pop-Tarts into a protein shake might be one of its boldest ideas so far.
