Dearest gentle reader, I come bearing a proclamation worth celebrating straight from Queen Charlotte herself: It’s okay to eat an entire pint of ice cream while watching the first half of Bridgerton Season 4 later this month. Okay, maybe that’s not a direct quote from Her Majesty, but how else are we supposed to take the news of an upcoming Jeni’s Ice Cream Bridgerton collaboration? As Sporked‘s resident Jeni’s tasting expert, I’m here with all the chilly details on this steamy team-up.
How is Jeni’s translating regency romance into ice cream?
That is a tall order, but Jeni’s is up to the task. We’ll actually be blessed with two Bridgerton-themed flavors in the near future. Just like Season 4, we’re getting two different flavors dropping a month apart to spread the excitement like butter on cucumber sandwiches. (I’m trying here, folks; my girlfriend was not available to consult on specific Bridgerton references this time around.)
First to shelves will be the Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake flavor, which hits Jeni’s webstore and scoop shops on January 15th. This almond buttercream ice cream is packed with raspberry-rose jam and golden honey cake swirls. “Is it lavender flavored? I don’t like lavender.” Well, lavender probably doesn’t like you either. Luckily for you, this ice cream is only tinted lavender to further the classy theme.
Next month, the Earl Grey Crème Brûlée flavor will be hitting Jeni’s webstore on February 9th and scoop shops a few days later on February 12th. This Earl Grey-steeped custard is infused with burnt-sugar candies to deliver that bougie crunch we all want from crème brûlée. Jeni’s Ice Cream is particularly silky-smooth; the difference between those textures is going to be so fun.
Will these ice cream flavors be any good?
Folks, you already know I’ll be reviewing these to keep my absurd “Every Jeni’s Flavor Ranked” piece up to date. I didn’t buy a new freezer last year to stock all the samples of Jeni’s Ice Cream just to stop reviewing Jeni’s Ice Cream. This is what I was put on this earth to do: find out whether any new Jeni’s flavor can compare to their greatest flavor of all time. Stay tuned for my reviews of both these Bridgerton-themed flavors ASAP—only on Sporked.
