Chips Ahoy has caught the soccer fever that seems to be taking over the entire grocery store. (Seriously, there are soccer-themed products from Chips Ahoy, Ritz, Sour Patch Kids, Powerade, Pringles, Lay’s, and BuzzBallz hitting shelves now. Everyone is leaning into the World Cup this year.)
Earlier this month, the brand launched three new cookie flavors inspired by soccer’s international nature, each featuring a popular player: Alex Morgan’s Chewy Chocolatey Churro, Christian Pulisic’s Crunchy Red, White & Blue Candy Blasts, and Sophia Wilson’s Chewy Dulce de Leche. Mondelēz was kind enough to send over samples so I could put them to the test. Let’s see whether these cookies can bring home a win or just end up offside.
- Chewy Chocolatey Churro Chips Ahoy Cookies Review
-
Pros: As a Chewy Chips Ahoy devotee, I think this is an outstanding evolution of the classic soft-baked cookie. The chocolate-cinnamon filling brings not only a strong churro flavor but also a distinct texture. And there’s genuine cinnamon here, which quickly brings that churro coating to mind.
Cons: The chocolate chips aren’t really necessary, but these are supposed to be chocolatey churro cookies. (I’m really scraping the bottom of the barrel for a con here.)

- Crunchy Red, White & Blue Candy Blasts Chips Ahoy Cookies Review
-
Pros: These patriotic soccer cookies are packed with small candy-coated chocolate bits. If you want a little more pizzazz from your classic Chips Ahoy experience, you won’t find anything better than this.
Cons: Crunchy isn’t my favorite style of cookie from Chips Ahoy. The addition of even crunchier candy bits reduces my interest that much more.

- Chewy Dulce De Leche Chips Ahoy Cookies Review
-
Pros: Dulce de leche is caramelized condensed milk, meaning these cookies are trying to be… milk-flavored? While the flavor is similar to caramel, it’s so much lighter…
Cons: …to the point of floating away if you aren’t really looking for it. Make no mistake, this is a pleasant cookie; I’m just a little underwhelmed after the strong flavor in the Chewy Chocolatey Churro cookie I tried first.
