Forget your pumpkin spice, people: This year, it’s all about apple cider. While PSLs aren’t going anywhere for 2026, we’ve seen an influx of apple cider-flavored items crop up in the last couple of weeks, as retailers and food companies prepare for fall. Is it too early to call it a trend? Can something be a trend if it’s been around since time immemorial? Hey, if pickles can do it, so can sweet, tart apples – and thus, Target, Betty Crocker, and Starbucks have all introduced apple cider (or apple cider-esque) products for your delectation from now ‘til winter.

Entenmann’s wasn’t going to miss out on the fun. It’s got some new apple-y, cider-y donut holes – but don’t worry, pumpkin’s still in the mix.
It’s Apple Cider Season At Entenmann’s
Yesterday, Entenmann’s and Little Bites announced their fall line-up, with a couple of returning items and one new one. Entenmann’s Apple Cider Donut Holes are the newbie, and they join Entenmann’s Apple Cider Donuts, which have been a seasonal item for the brand for a good couple of years now.
Okay, okay! Maybe apple cider isn’t a NEW trend, given that Entenmann’s has been championing it for ages – but it’s definitely on the up, and these donut holes feel like a doubling down on the flavor du jour. Each pack of Apple Cider Donut Holes will retail at around $5.69, while its Apple Cider Donuts have an RRP of $6.99.
And What’s Returning?
It’s pumpkin o’clock. On the Entenmann’s side, we’ll see its Pumpkin Donuts and Pumpkin Donut Holes return this year (priced the same as the apple cider donuts and donut holes) – and on the Little Bites side, its Pumpkin Muffins are also making a comeback, setting you back around $5.69 for a box of five four-packs. Little Bites is also getting into the spooky spirit with its Chocolate Chip Halloween Muffins, which come wrapped in trick-or-treat-themed packages.
All of these items will be available from August until November, so there’s plenty of time to bask in the cozy glow of autumn while knocking back a couple of apple-flavored donut holes. This launch has been the first big bit of news we’ve seen from the two brands since the release of their July 4-themed snacks a couple of months ago. And wow, doesn’t that feel like long ago now? It’s been a busy summer! We’d better take a load off with some baked goods as the weather turns.
