Sound the alarms! The king of kaiju just made landfall in the energy drink aisle. Last week, C4 Energy quietly revealed an upcoming collaboration with Godzilla—no small feat for a 300-foot-tall lizard monster. Yes, Sour Blue Razzilla C4 Ultimate Energy will hit shelves in October. Let’s go over what we know about this monstrous new flavor (atomic breath not included).
What does “Ultimate Energy” mean?
These are the only kinds of questions I’m qualified to answer: C4 has two different types of energy drinks. You’re probably more familiar with their “Performance Energy” line sold in those bright yellow cans that remind me of the scream canisters from Monsters Inc. Cans of C4 Performance Energy contain a pretty standard 200mg of caffeine (same as GHOST or Alani Nu). C4 also sells a line of “Ultimate Energy” drinks, which contain 300mg of caffeine per can. This blue raspberry Godzilla collaboration, fittingly, will be under the high-octane label.
Where can I buy Sour Blue Razzilla C4 Energy?
While we don’t have confirmed retailer information just yet, there’s no chance this is exclusive to any particular retailer for a single, obvious reason: This flavor was revealed on the website for the National Association of Convenience Stores’ trade show. Generally speaking, it’s not good business to show off an exclusive product to all the folks you’re trying to convince to stock your product line.
What’s coming next from C4 Energy?
C4 actually posted two new flavors to the trade show catalogue that brought us today’s news. While we have a release date for the Godzilla-inspired extra-caffeinated flavor, we do not have any further information on C4’s Mango Fuego Performance Energy. Yes, the brand is launching a sweet-and-spicy energy drink. It looks like C4 will be sampling this flavor at the upcoming NACS Expo, which Tyler Bowers and I will be covering for Sporked! I’ll be sure to check it out and bring y’all the swicy news ASAP.
What’s coming next from Godzilla?
Believe it or not, I got word of a different Godzilla collaboration in the beverage space while I was writing this piece! Godzilla will also appear on nearly every can and bottle of Pabst Blue Ribbon this fall; some cans will even turn “atomic breath” blue when they’re the perfect frosty temperature.
