Stop the presses: They ranchified the pizzas. Yes, Hidden Valley Ranch is a featured ingredient in two new DiGiorno pizzas coming to a freezer section near you. Lucky for you, we’ve got all the details on exactly what’s going onto (and into) these two pizzas. And DiGiorno isn’t the only freezer section specialty that’s getting an extra dose of Hidden Valley Ranch either; read all the way to the end for a tease of the next HVR collaboration coming soon.
What does “ranchification” entail?
In this case, it means Hidden Valley Ranch has been integrated both into the sauce and used as a seasoning on the crust. The first of the two new DiGiorno pizzas is called the Spicy Rancheroni, featuring a Buffalo-esque Hidden Valley Ranch sauce, cheese, pepperoni, jalapenos, and Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning on a thin crust.
The second pizza is a more frequent option on pizza menus, but DiGiorno is turning it up to 11 as usual. The Chicken Bacon Ranch STUFFED Crust loads grilled chicken, applewood smoked bacon, and cheese onto a classic, creamy HVR sauce; the crust is stuffed with bacon and cheese and topped with more of that Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning.
When and where can we expect these new DiGiorno pizzas on shelves?
The Spicy Rancheroni thin crust pizza will be exclusive to the Kroger family of stores starting this month, while the Chicken Bacon Ranch STUFFED Crust pizza will be available anywhere fine DiGiorno products are sold this April. (Stay tuned for our reviews of both pizzas!)
Is Hidden Valley Ranch doing too much?
Oh, for sure. Over the last few years, Hidden Valley Ranch has expanded into more fields and form factors than I can count. We all remember the two-way Cheez-It/Hidden Valley Ranch collaboration that happened last year: Hidden Valley Ranch-flavored Cheez-Its launching at the same time as Cheez-It-flavored Hidden Valley Ranch. Beyond that ouroboros, the elevated hot sauce brand TRUFF partnered with HVR on a creamy ranch truffle sauce a few years ago, and the bougie scientists over at Van Leeuwen even made a Hidden Valley Ranch ice cream back in 2023.
Should we expect any other interesting Hidden Valley Ranch collaborations in the pizza world?
You didn’t hear this from me (especially since this news came from snack blogger Markie Devo), but it sounds like Hot Pockets are also launching products infused with Hidden Valley Ranch. This doesn’t sound like a coincidence either; considering Hot Pockets and DiGiorno share a parent company, I have to imagine this was an intentional move to capture the entire “ranchified pizza” market. We’ll be sure to cover those in detail when more information comes out.
