Mtn Dew Baja Blast ice cream is old news. The real Mtn Dew Baja fans are already onto the next thing: Mtn Dew Baja Laguna Lemonade. That’s right, the overactive flavor scientists at Mtn Dew (formerly Mountain Dew) have cooked up yet another new Baja blend, and the soda watchers on Instagram have the scoop.

The news came out at the 2023 NACS Show (along with deets on other product releases like Buffalo Cheetos). According to @snackgator, Mtn Dew Baja Laguna Lemonade will launch in 2024 (that’s not as far away as you might think). And the flavor will be mango lemonade—apparently, according to Mtn Dew, lagunas taste like mangos, though I wouldn’t recommend trying to fact check them by taking a big slurp out of your local inlet.

According to @sodaseekers, the new Baja variant will be available only in 20 oz bottles. No word on whether this will be a store exclusive like Mtn Dew Purple Thunder or a seasonal offering like the other most recent Baja flavors, Caribbean Splash and Passionfruit Punch.

Mtn Dew Baja Laguna Lemonade is just the latest in a slew of Mtn Dew flavor news items, including the unconfirmed rumor of a peach Mtn Dew and the word about Mtn Dew VooDEW’s candy collab. Seriously, how do the folks at Mtn Dew stay this busy? We can only assume it’s all the free Mtn Dew.

Update: According to a Tweet from @TeamSupernovaFB, Mtn Dew Baja Laguna Lemonade will be joined by yet another Baja spinoff: Point Break Punch. If you look at the label as if you were the agent at a computer in a CSI spinoff (enhance! enhance!), it appears that Point Break Punch will be raspberry pineapple flavor.

Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients. Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now). Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test! Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
