Oh, pickles. Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate… Or maybe thou art the craziest, most rootin’ tootin’, spicy, sweet pickle product that’s ever graced a plate of food at a cookout? Sorry, I am a bit extra sometimes, and so are these damn pickles! With a name like Devil’s Spit, it may (rightfully) cause some to shy away. If you don’t do spicy, these pickles aren’t for you. There’s palpable heat that emanates from these bad boys as soon as you walk by the jar. Take a big whiff when you open it; some nose hairs will be singed.

I absolutely love these. They are spicy, sweet, tangy, and totally, irresistible. It’s not a kick of heat or a punch, it’s downright assault (in a good way!). I throw them on hamburgers, tuck them into the bun of a hot dog with lots of mustard and a Hebrew Natty, layer them on sandwiches fixed with deli meat and potato chips; I even chomp on them as a “side salad.” The corn syrupy sweetness may turn some people off, but I think it just adds to the charisma of this pickle chip. “Yeah, corn syrup may be one of the main ingredients in this here jar, so what? If you can’t handle it, move me aside. And pass me a beer, whydontya?” I don’t know when the pickle jar became sentient and started speaking—maybe the summer heat is getting to you. Well, buy these for your cookout and thank me later.
