We Guessed The Little Bites’ Mystery Muffin Flavor

Whew, we are starting to lose track of all the mystery flavor things that are out right now. It seems this Halloween and fall is set to have you guessing the flavor of… a lot of things. We’ve got Chips Ahoy giving mystery cookies, Air Heads (an OG of the mystery flavor) has a mystery flavor drink coming out, Sunny-D has a mystery drink for you to figure out, and Hi-Chew is releasing their own mystery flavor. Well, we’ve got one more for you to figure out. Little Bites, the pre-packaged mini muffins, has released their own mystery flavor packs of muffins.

Our Guess

First, I’ll talk about what I think they are after trying them. Then we’re gonna hit Reddit and see what they have to say on the flavor. So the muffin has no mix-ins and it’s just a yellow cake muffin color. So nothing is immediately given away in its flavor. Smellwise, it smells a little sweet and vanilla-y, but there’s not a ton of scent coming from it. 

As for taste, well… It was about like the smell. It was mild and vanilla-y. A little buttery. It reminds me of pound cake almost. It has that sort of denseness you think of when you have a pound cake. Surely, they wouldn’t release a muffin that’s just plain old vanilla. But I think pound cake is plausible.

It was certainly not an unpleasant muffin. It was just… kind of a plain muffin almost. But with subtle notes of… something else. For a grab-and-go snack, I wouldn’t be opposed, but I’m probably reaching for the crumb cake ones over this flavor. 

Over To Reddit

Reddit has varied opinions on the flavor. There’s everything from cotton candy to fruit to people who are on my side and think pound cake or butter cake type things. I really don’t see where people are getting cotton candy. I didn’t find the muffin all that sweet and cotton candy has a very specific artificial flavoring taste. This muffin doesn’t have that. 

Now fruity, I can see those a little more. I would go only as far as maybe some light citrus. But berry is a little too far. Some even think they taste Fruity Pebbles, which I also don’t see. 

Whatever the flavor really is, it’s definitely a subtle flavor. To really discern it is going to take someone with a very refined palette. For everyone else, you can throw your vote for what you think the flavor is. And for those on social media, you have to opportunity to name this new flavor, meaning that the mystery flavor is about to get a regular release as well. You can find the post for naming on their socials and submit your own zany name and have a chance for that to become the official name for the flavor.
