From Pop-Tarts to whipped cream, I’ve been covering Thin Mint innovation for a while here at Sporked. Without a doubt, my favorite release in recent memory has to be the Thin Mints Frosty launched by Wendy’s last year. The cookie crumble in that mint chocolate sauce changed my brain chemistry. That’s why I was so glad to get an email from Wendy’s announcing the first annual return of this seasonal treat. Whether you use a spoon or straw (or even fries, if you’re a monster), it’s time to dig into this news.
So Wendy’s just brought the Thin Mints Frosty back unchanged?
Well, yes and no. Last year’s Thin Mints Frosty is returning to the menu unchanged, in addition to a new variant with a little more going on. If you haven’t stared down a Wendy’s drive-thru menu in the last year, you’ve missed a major development. In April 2025, Wendy’s announced they were adding “Frosty Swirls” and “Frosty Fusions” to their menu. (Zach Ciampa and I definitely broke the news of that menu change two months ahead of schedule on our Instagram pages. Oops.)
Frosty Swirls include your choice of a flavored syrup drizzled into a chocolate or vanilla Frosty base; Swirl syrups offered since launch include brownie batter, caramel, strawberry, and snickerdoodle. Frosty Fusions are Frosty Swirls with the addition of your choice of mix-in; mix-in options offered since launch include OREO cookie pieces, crunchy toffee bits, Strawberry Pop-Tarts Crunchy Poppers, and snickerdoodle cookie crumble.
Basically, the number of ways you could customize your Frosty exploded exponentially. My fellow fast food historians and I now file the original Thin Mints Frosty (plus the SpongeBob Squarepants-branded “Pineapple Under the Sea” Frosty from 2024) under the “Frosty Swirl” category, even though the label didn’t exist at first launch. Moving forward, we’ll all be enjoying the same-recipe-new-name Thin Mints Frosty Swirl and the brand new Thin Mints Frosty Fusion.
What’s in the Thin Mints Frosty Fusion?
The brand-new Thin Mints Frosty Fusion features, if you couldn’t guess, even more Thin Mints! Yes, as if the original Thin Mint Frosty with that perfect cookie-infused mint chocolate sauce wasn’t enough, Wendy’s will be mixing in heaps of real crushed Thin Mints. Lord, I’m not ready for this.
When are the Thin Mints Frostys hitting stores?
Per Wendy’s, both Thin Mints Frosty variants will be available starting February 16th. And if you want to dip full-sized Thin Mints into a Thin Mints Frosty, select Wendy’s locations will host Girl Scouts selling Thin Mints (plus all the classics and the new Exploremores) starting on National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend: February 20th through 22nd. Head to the all-important Girl Scout Cookie Sale Locator to find your closest participating Wendy’s.
