Well, Trader Joe’s, we’re getting close to the end of the year, so I thought it was worth revisiting all the fun we’ve had in 2025. Okay—it wasn’t all fun. I tried some new TJ’s products this year that I downright disliked, but I still want to give credit where it’s due. We truly appreciate that TJ’s is always trying new things—and frequently, the results are positive. Yeah, I’m still digesting oily beef from that one frozen meal, but let’s talk about some of the best new Trader Joe’s products we tried in 2025, starting with my personal favorite…

(Note: We can’t guarantee all of these are currently available! You know how TJ’s is!)

Trader Joe’s Mini Taiyaki

Trader Joe’s Mini Taiyaki are the perfect food. They’re deceivingly simple in theory, but they deliver in the best way possible. You get a bag of eight little fish-shaped waffles that are stuffed with a creamy custard filing. What’s not to love? I still have three bags in my freezer that I stashed away when I saw them last, because I don’t know how I can go on without them. They’re really simply that good. I would do unspeakable things to get them back in stock at my local TJ’s.

Trader Joe’s Cashel Blue Cheese Irish Potato Chips

Trader Joe’s Cashel Blue Cheese potato chips are so good that they turned me into a blue cheese believer, a thing I never thought possible. They’re so funky that you really can’t get through a whole bag in one sitting, but hey, that’s probably for the best. The entire Sporked team were HUGE fans of these. Keep your eyes peeled (like potatoes…get it?), because they usually hit stores around the holidays.

Trader Joe’s Caesar Salad Dip

This Caesar Salad Dip came out back in January, and I’m still not quite over how well TJ’s delivered on the concept. This is a delightfully versatile dip that’s really just caesar salad blended up to make it spreadable. You can smear this on crackers or dunk sturdy potato chips into it, but it would also make a really good sandwich spread for a chicken pita wrap. It’s creamy and has all the flavor of a Caesar salad in an little tub. Brilliant.

Trader Joe’s Tom Yum Seasoned Snack Mix

It’s hard to find words to express how much we love Trader Joe’s Tom Yum Seasoned Snack Mix. Instead, I’ll divulge that I’ve purchased this for every party I’ve been since we first tried it back in April, and it’s been a hit every single time. It combines cashews, fried fava beans, snappy dried green peas, clusters of sticky rice, and, of course, all the nice, savory spices in tom yum soup. It really is like Trader Joe’s made soup you can eat on the go.

Trader Joe’s Caro Sugo Italian Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce

I often think of Trader Joe’s as a place to go when you want fun options and signature items you simply can’t find at other grocery stores—but if you needed a staple? There’s a high probability you’ll be stuck with the most mid option you’ve ever tasted. This year, TJ’s fought my preconceptions with this surprisingly delicious pasta sauce. This stuff actually tastes like someone cared. It’s like they bottled up a homemade sauce that you’d simmer for hours. It’s one of our new go-tos if we’re stuck buying pasta sauce at TJ’s.

Trader Joe’s Buffalo Ranch Popcorn

Trader Joe’s excels at making interesting snacks to bring to parties, like this Buffalo Ranch popcorn! It’s bright, bold, and, unlike a big ol’ platter of wings, it won’t create a mess for the host to clean up after everyone’s left.

Trader Joe’s Okonomiyaki Japanese Vegetable Pancake

Trader Joe’s makes international dishes with varying degrees of success, but they did a pretty darn good job with their frozen okonomiyaki. Okonomiyaki is a savory pancake dish that starts with a base of wheat flour batter and is virtually endlessly customizable from there. TJ’s version is an easy base for a hearty lunch, so its only downfall is that it’s best for eating at home eating instead of at the office.

Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate & Almond Cookie Tiles

These came out way back in February, but I can’t get the taste of these cookie tiles out of my head. I think that alone makes it worth including here. These cookie tiles are unique, they’re satisfying to eat, and I really do wish I had followed through with my earlier plans of hiding a few boxes around my apartment. I’d close this out and start digging just to find one more bite.
