It’s been the year of sauce at KFC. Seriously: 2026 has seen the chicken chain double down on its sauce offerings, as part of a mission to improve its overall output and create more options for its customers. As such, over the last couple of months, we’ve seen a slow drip-feed of new sauces, either accompanying new drinks, arriving in promotional tie-ins for certain superhero movies, or spicing things up.

As it stands, there are a fair few options available. And yet? There might not be enough – well, according to some customers, anyway. A recent discussion on the current state of saucy play at KFC revealed that some people are still waiting for it to drop some more, and it seems like it’s ignoring some potential fan-favorites that are staring them in the face.
More Sauces, Please!
A KFC customer recently took to Reddit to talk about what they called the “whole tonne of new dipping sauces no one asked for,” and through the discussion that ensued, a couple of blind spots in KFC’s sauce output came to light. The customer questioned why its pepper mayo wasn’t available as a standalone dip.
I should pause here to note that this mayo is only available in the UK, Australia, and several other international markets. The highlighting of the absence of this sauce, though, also put the finger on what a few other customers seem to be feeling: That KFC is leaning into newfangled formulations and sauce options where adding more simple, pre-existing options would suffice. This was confirmed by other people in the Reddit thread, who asked KFC to add a standard sweet chili dip to its sauce lineup. KFC has sweet chili-adjacent options, sure, but at present, it doesn’t offer the Thai-style sweet chili sauce that reigns supreme (well, amongst our tastebuds, anyway).
Some of its other recent sauces, meanwhile, were dubbed a disappointment by some – and honestly, they’ve been a slight disappointment to us, too. When we tried its new hot ranch, it was noticeably lacking in heat.
So What’s The Solution?
This customer discussion seems to point towards the fact that people do want more sauces – but they want sauces they know. There’s nothing wrong with KFC trying to create new options for people (there’s a lot of fun in that), but are we seeing a slight case of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” going on here? Perhaps. We’re sure that KFC has plenty more sauces up its sleeve, but we just hope some of them are the classics.
