OREO Firecracker Pop Cookies Are Popping Off

While those Marvel-themed OREO cookies were fun, the flavor innovation wasn’t as wild as we know OREO can get. This summer, OREO is meeting our expectations with a fun new flavor hitting stores nationwide: OREO Firecracker Pop Cookies. These new sandwich cookies are here just in time for all your semiquincenntennial celebrations. Let’s get into what these cookies are and when we’ll all be able to start devouring them.

What’s in this new OREO cookie?

Thankfully, we are getting golden wafers in this upcoming release. Call me crazy, but I don’t think that classic chocolate flavor would pair super well with these blue raspberry, lemon, and cherry flavored cremes. Yes, your eyes haven’t deceived you: OREO has packed three layers of creme into these new sandwich cookies. Appropriately layered in red, white, and blue order, each of these cookies will offer a miniature version of the full rocket pop flavor experience.

One ingredient you won’t find in this new OREO release is popping candy. Despite the use of “Pop” in the name, this release is staying true to the original popsicle that inspired the years-long rocket pop trend I’ve been loving. While I appreciate the authenticity, I can’t pretend I wouldn’t love OREO for bringing back the fun textural addition in my beloved OREO Space Dunk cookies. (Hey OREO, between the Artemis II launch and Project Hail Mary making all that sweet IMAX money, there’s no better time to bring back Space Dunk or Marshmallow Moon. Please.)

When can I get my hands on OREO Firecracker Pop cookies?

Starting May 4th, OREO Firecracker Pop cookies hit shelves anywhere OREO cookies are sold. These will be available for a limited time while supplies last; I hope they’ll be available long enough to purchase for July 4th celebrations.

While I haven’t confirmed we’ll see this new flavor in those impulse-aisle 4-packs sold at convenience stores and gas stations, I wouldn’t be surprised; these cookies will fit in perfectly with all the other patriotic products launching this summer. (Will I be the first person to dip an OREO Firecracker Pop cookie into Monster Ultra Red, White, and Blue Razz? Stay tuned, folks.)
