Sam’s Club doesn’t get it right all the time. We’re always happy to give it a pat on the back when it drops a new deli item that sticks the landing, but every now and again, its prepared foods don’t quite prompt the rapturous response the store probably hopes for. That’s happened a few times in the last couple of months: Its recent Seasoned Pulled Rotisserie-Style Chicken came under fire for its price-to-value, while its decision to change its enchiladas had a lot of customers pretty irritated.

Its Member’s Mark Calzones came under similar scrutiny – but you know what? Sam’s Club knows when things aren’t working. Introducing: Calzones 2.0.

Sam’s Club Member’s Mark Calzones

First, we need to take things all the way back to February 2026. Remember that? Remember when the year was just starting? Doesn’t it feel like five seconds ago, and isn’t that utterly terrifying? Now that existential dread is out of the way, February was the month that Sam’s Club released its new Member’s Mark Calzones in its deli section. A four-pack of precooked mini calzones filled with mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, and bell peppers, it promised to be a real winter warmer.

Except…people hated them. While not everyone disliked these calzones, they immediately began to rack up some pretty awful reviews on its website. People criticized them for their dryness, their lack of filling, the toughness and thickness of the dough, and how all of this cost them way more than they thought the calzones were worth. Basically, these things were a bust.

And Then, One Day, Everything Changed…

A bust until now, that is. Sam’s Club took its Member’s Mark Calzones back to the drawing board and gave their recipe a refresh, adding more filling and a slightly thinner dough. As @samsclubfoodreview found, its new calzones are much, much better. If you doubt it, check out the cheese pull in the video @samsclubfoodreview posted. It’s the stuff of dreams. I’m now sitting here, absolutely starving. Mission accomplished.

Well, Sam’s Club…we’re impressed. I respect it any time a supermarket actually pays attention to feedback and does something about it, when they could merely ignore it or discontinue their items, thereby pretending they never existed in the first place. This all ties in with the more general sense that Sam’s Club is really thinking about the quality and freshness of its food right now (fresh tortillas, anyone?). Long may it continue. Bravo.
