I’m very excited for today’s review, y’all; I might actually be more excited about this drink than Gatorade themselves. When I saw a few bottles of Tropical Coconut Gatorlyte on display at last year’s NACS Expo, I asked the employees for more details… to no avail. The drink hadn’t made it into their informational packets, and I was the first person to actually notice them and ask to learn more. (A coconut Gatorade drink? Sue me for being interested.) Well, I just found a bottle at Kroger; let’s find out whether this hydration drink was worth all that investigating.

Wait, what is Gatorlyte?
Gatorlyte is basically extra-strength Gatorade. Sold in the same square bottles as Pedialyte and the dozen-odd other “Pedialyte for adults” drinks, these drinks feature more electrolytes than classic Gatorade and much less sugar when compared to the amount of Gatorade you’d have to drink for the same amount of electrolytes. Gatorlyte is designed for rapid, efficient rehydration rather than rehydrating over time with Gatorade Thirst Quencher.
Tropical Coconut Gatorlyte is the eighth flavor to date, joining Cherry Lime (my G.O.A.T.), Glacier Freeze, Lime Cucumber, Mixed Berry, Orange, Strawberry Kiwi, and Watermelon on shelves now. Gatorade also sells Gatorlyte drink mix packets in Cherry Lime, Orange, and Watermelon, as well as bottles of zero-sugar Gatorlyte in Fruit Punch, Lemon Lime, and Strawberry Kiwi.
