Burger King just launched a brand-new Star Wars menu in celebration of May the Fourth and the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. While the Bounty Bundle contains a beefy entree and multiple savory sides, there’s only one dessert approved by The Child himself. (I’m sure it’s a total coincidence that this also happens to be a blue milkshake.) Burger King flew me out to their Miami headquarters last week for an early taste test; here’s what I thought of Grogu’s Blue Cookie Shake.
- Burger King Grogu’s Blue Cookie Shake

-
Pros: Grogu’s Blue Cookie Shake combines vanilla soft-serve with blue-tinted sugar cookie syrup and a crumble of blue sugar cookies on top. As you might expect, this shake is fantastic–nostalgic, buttery, easily my favorite fast food dessert in recent memory. The sugar cookie syrup in this blue cookie shake doesn’t just bring sugar cookies to mind, but specifically the best sugar cookies in the game: Cheryl’s. Growing up with those amazing buttercream-frosted cookies at local restaurants and shopping centers was a real Midwestern privilege; I’ll be recommending this to everyone I know who’s tasted those true cookie luxuries. (That said, per my fellow taste-testers at BK HQ, you will need a sweet tooth to tackle this in one sitting.)
Cons: I drank this with a straw, so the blue cookie crumble on top didn’t really come into play until I was almost done. You could try mixing it into the bulk of the shake sooner, but you’d risk bending your straw beyond repair. I didn’t mind tackling these crunchy, textural additions at the end; by then, the shake had melted just enough that the cookie chunks weren’t clogging the slurp experience. (That’s a very technical phrase; I’m a professional.)

What’s the Bounty Bundle?
Burger King has four new menu items launching as part of this promotional menu; the “Bounty Bundle” contains all four items inside an extra-large branded carton–plus one of four 32oz collector cups, while supplies last. (Burger King has a long history with Star Wars, starting with a similar collector cup release back in 1977, promoting the launch of the very first film.) Starting at $19.99, the Bounty Bundle contains the BBQ Bounty Whopper, an 8-piece Grogu’s Garlic Chicken Fries with new Garlic Sauce, an 8-piece Imperial Cheddar Ranch Tots, and a Grogu’s Blue Cookie Shake.
