For Shake Shack fans, the return of Black Truffle sauce is something worth celebrating on the same level as the McRib or the Caramel Apple Empanada. This annual event features not just the returning sauce, but a full complimentary menu perfectly paired to the sauce itself. Shake Shack’s 2026 Black Truffle menu includes burgers, ‘Shroom sandwiches, fries, and mac & cheese bites. But what if you want to try Shake Shack‘s Black Truffle sauce on Mexican food? Pizza? Or, God forbid, even a smoothie?

For just two days, Shake Shack is operating a “Black Truffle Window” in New York City, where you can bring anything edible to be drizzled with the chain’s Black Truffle sauce. To quote the announcement, “You bring it, we will truffle it.”
Where is Shake Shack’s Black Truffle Window?
Shake Shack’s Black Truffle Window will be located at 204 Mulberry St in New York City. The “Hours of Truffling” will be from 11 am to 7 pm on Friday, October 23rd, and from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, October 24th. At a cursory (Google Maps) glance, the storefront where the Black Truffle Window will be erected sits right next to a fenced park. It looks like Shake Shack picked a spot with plenty of room for the inevitably long lines of folks hoping to Black Truffle-ify their favorite foods.
You’d be forgiven for assuming this promotion will take place at a Shake Shack location, but they’re actually setting up shop somewhere else entirely. In hindsight, this makes total sense; there are surely regulations, guidelines, or just a litany of common-sense reasons for Shake Shack to host this “bring whatever food you want!” condiment-sampling event outside one of their restaurants. Beyond that, it’s simple restaurant logic: you generally want people to walk into your place of business intending to order your food, not bring in their own.
Speaking of where this is being held, the neighborhood hosting the Black Truffle Window is chockful of quality Italian restaurants and has very few chain restaurants. So, if you’re hoping to try a Black Truffle Big Mac or Black Truffle Doritos Locos Taco, you’ll need to catch a train from a more fast food-y part of town.
