Non-alcoholic alcohol is all the rage. Whether you’re trying to cut down on your drinking or you’re fully sober and tired of drinking Sprite mixed with cranberry juice at parties, we have a non-alcoholic booze for you. These days, you can find non-alcoholic versions of pretty much any alcohol. But not all non-alcoholic alcohols are created equal! Here are the best in each category.
- Clean Co Clean V
If you’re looking for the best non-alcoholic vodka, grab a bottle of Clean Co Clean V. This non-alcoholic vodka might smell like sweet apple cider, but it tastes pretty close to the real deal. Sporked editor-in-chief Justine Sterling describes the taste as “quite tart and dry.” We probably wouldn’t do shots of it, but it would be great in any cocktail that calls for normal vodka

- Clean Co Tequila Alternative
Clean Co is at it again! Their non-alcoholic tequila “alternative” comes in a beautiful bottle and has a beautiful flavor. Plus, it’s made with actual tequila. It has notes of tangerine with some green pepper bitterness. This is the best non-alcoholic tequila and would make a phenomenal non-alcoholic margarita. Have your next happy hour be alcohol free with this Clean Co tequila and see if your friends even notice.

- For Bitter For Worse Eva’s Spritz
For a long time, mocktails consisted of just a sweet mixer in a glass with ice (aka a cocktail without the alcohol). Mocktails, however, should be so much more. They should be their own tasty, interesting, complex drinks. For Bitter For Worse is making those mocktails. Their Eva’s Spritz is our favorite. Sporked managing editor Gwynedd Stuart thinks that this is the best canned mocktail out there because it’s “warm and bright” and “sweet but not at all cloying.” It’s sophisticated, convenient, and alcohol-free!

- O’Doul’s Premium Golden Non-Alcoholic Brew
If you’ve heard of non-alcoholic beer, you’ve heard of O’Doul’s. It’s the original non-alcoholic beer! It’s also some of the best non-alcoholic booze money can buy. Justine likes that “it’s not trying to be fancy…or nuanced. It is trying to taste like your basic domestic lager and it does so with great success.” This is the type of beer you drink at a bar with friends while you’re watching a game. This is a beer drinker’s non-alcoholic beer.

- Sovi Red Reserve
Gwynedd tasted this non-alcoholic red wine and immediately wrote down, “That’s the stuff.” This non-alcoholic red wine is a de-alcoholized Cabernet Sauvignon-Petite Sirah blend made with grapes grown in California. It’s aged in both French and American oak barrels. It’s tannic and oaky, but still light. Gwynedd called this non-alcoholic alcohol “impressive,” and at $38 a bottle, it should be.

- Be Free Sparkling White Wine
We’ll be real with you, non-alcoholic white wine is not the best non alcoholic booze out there. Gwynedd did, however, enjoy Be Free. “[They make] the best non-alcoholic white wine we tried during our taste test. It’s less cloying than the other NA whites, and it has a really authentic effervescence—the bubbles are small and festive and reminiscent of what you’ll find in a good sparkling wine.” If you’re looking for something white, bubbly, and non alcoholic to toast with, Be Free White Sparkling Wine might be for you.

- Free Spirits the Spirit of Bourbon
“This non-alcoholic bourbon smells like Christmas. It’s sweet and spiced with notes of ginger and nutmeg. At first sip you get tinges of apple, then here comes the burn.” Has Justine sold you yet on this non-alcoholic whiskey? It’s not just any non-alcoholic whiskey, it’s our best non-alcoholic whiskey! It would be great in a Whiskey Ginger or mulled apple cider. Whiskey drinkers looking to cut back on booze, this one’s for you!

- DHOS
Justine was in charge of our non-alcoholic gin taste test and she loved the aesthetic and taste of DHOS. She named it the best non-alcoholic gin you can currently buy. “It is very juniper forward, so you definitely scratch that gin itch. And it finishes with a very nice burn in the back of your throat. It’s perfect for a bright, crisp cocktail like a Gin Buck or a Bee’s Knees.” Plus, it’s not that expensive at around $20 a bottle. I’m sold!
