If you’re a saucemaxxer, Buffalo Wild Wings has always been the place to be. This sports-themed wing shop has offered dozens of sauces as long as I can remember, with new additions coming as quickly as we can write about them. (Anyone else still thinking about last year’s Chipotle Honey Mustaaaaaard drop? Heinz, let’s get those bottles back on shelves ASAP.)

Earlier this summer, Buffalo Wild Wings launched six new dipping sauces in collaboration with Heinz, intended for the chain’s wide range of dippable options like chicken strips and fries. I ordered the whole lineup alongside said chicken strips and the far superior potato wedges to determine which of these new internationally inspired sauces should stick around for good.
- Yuzu Wasabi Buffalo Wild Wings X Heinz Dipping Sauce Review

I went into this sauce expecting to dislike it since I’m not into heat for heat’s sake. I wasn’t expecting to dislike this sauce because it isn’t hot enough! There’s certainly a citrus factor I can attribute to yuzu, but beyond a vague horseradish-y back-of-the-mouth heat, this is not nearly hot enough or intense enough to earn anything close to a wasabi label.
Bizarrely, this is a whiff because I actually enjoy it. If I like this sauce, it will not satisfy anyone who actually enjoys true wasabi heat. If anything, it may give people false confidence ahead of a future encounter with real wasabi…

- Creamy Chimichurri Buffalo Wild Wings X Heinz Dipping Sauce Review
-
This creamy take on the garlic-and-herb spread definitely has a place on the Buffalo Wild Wings menu… but I’m not sure where. I think the chimuchurri flavor profile could be a fantastic burger topping with the right complementary toppings, but I think all BWW sauces need to function first and foremost on the titular wild wings. The chunky texture doesn’t seem like it’d lend itself easily to tossing on wings; it’s already somewhat tough to dip the recommended chicken tenders in.

- Smoky Elote Buffalo Wild Wings X Heinz Dipping Sauce Review

While this isn’t my personal favorite, this sauce would be an inspired addition to the permanent menu. This nuanced smoked corn sauce has such a complementary flavor profile for chicken and potato, two mainstays of the dippable/tossable menu.
While it isn’t spicy per se, the low-and-slow smokiness would be a good “in-between battles” wing to keep the real heat of other sauces going quietly rather than completely extinguishing it with a wholly separate flavor profile. Buffalo Wild Wings should ditch one of those more generic barbecue sauces and keep this around for good.

- Peri Peri Buffalo Wild Wings X Heinz Dipping Sauce Review
-
As a longtime peri-peri chicken enjoyer, I was pleasantly surprised with the balance between savory flavor and heat in Buffalo Wild Wings’ long-overdue take on the African chicken concept. While I usually order my Peri-Peri chicken on easy mode, I think this slightly-hotter-than-mild version is perfect for the heat-focused audience at Buffalo Wild Wings. If I was more of a betting man, I’d expect this sauce to stick around–if only to compete with Nando’s.

- Sweet Curry Buffalo Wild Wings X Heinz Dipping Sauce Review
-
I was surprised to find out Buffalo Wild Wings didn’t already have a curry sauce on the menu… until I found out they did. While the existing Thai Curry sauce definitely delivers heat à la red curry, this new take definitely leans toward the mild-at-most yellow curry end of the spectrum.
This sauce elevated my potato wedges to the point I struggled to stop myself from obliterating the remainder of my tray before tasting the remaining sauces. This is my favorite sauce in this new dipping lineup, but it isn’t at #1 for reasons soon to be revealed… (Spoilers: Sweet Curry isn’t hot.)

- Maple Sweet Chili Buffalo Wild Wings X Heinz Dipping Sauce Review
-
My partner in this dipping sauce ranking journey had actually tried the lineup before; of all six sauces, he said this was the one that previously stood out to him as the clear winner. While I personally prefer the Sweet Curry sauce, I can’t disagree that this sweet-heat offering is more likely to hit with Buffalo Wild Wings’ spice-seeking crowd.
While the sauce’s name starts with Maple, there’s no doubt the recipe started with a quality sweet chili sauce. The sauce’s super-sticky texture naturally lends itself to the added maple factor. If I can only pick one of these dipping sauces to stick around for good, this is my final answer.
