Just when I thought the announcement of Oreo O’s untimely demise was the last we’d hear from Oreo this year, the press release fairy blessed me with one last heaping helping of news. I’m here to share the word on not one, not two, but seven new Oreo flavors and products releasing in the next month. From Cakesters to Minis to Thins (and even one new extra-thick Oreo), we’ve got all sorts of new flavors and innovations in the field of Sandwich Cookie Science. Here are the new Oreo cookies and products hitting shelves soon.
Oreo Game Day
This first new Oreo cookie coming up is a limited-edition themed pack of regular Oreo cookies. (They can’t all be earth shattering breakthroughs, y’all.) Every pack of Oreo Game Day cookies will feature five different football designs. You can expect to find Oreo Game Day on shelves right after Christmas.
Oreo Golden Cakesters
Last seen on shelves in 2012, this golden variant of the popular Oreo Cakesters sandwich snack cake will finally return to our eager mouths in early January, 2025. There’ve been more than a few petitions to bring this flavor back over the years, so I’m looking forward to seeing what all the hype is about. Word of warning: This release isn’t labeled as permanent, so make sure you snag these early in case Oreo decides to taketh them away again.
Oreo Irish Creme Thins
Much like last year’s Tiramisu release, Oreo is locking some of their most interesting flavors into their strange, stroopwafel-esque Thins line. This time around, the new Oreo flavor we’re getting is Irish Creme Oreo Thins. And these new Oreos will be a permanent addition to the Thins lineup.
Oreo Minis Peanut Butter
Good news, small-mouthed Oreo fans: Nabisco didn’t forget about you! This permanent new Oreos release brings the established Oreo peanut butter creme to the Minis format for the first time. Now if we could just combine this idea with the Ritz/Oreo mashup…
Oreo Loaded
We’ve got another entry into the hallowed hall of Oreo-flavored Oreos, and this one looks very similar to the meta-est of all: The Most Oreo Oreo. The new Oreo Loaded cookies contain a “Mega Stuf” quantity of creme packed with Oreo cookie bits. So, it’s an Oreo Cookies and Cream-flavored Oreo. Hark, the herald angels sing. In my opinion, this is definitely the most interesting product coming out of this batch of releases; keep an eye out for our review in early January, 2025.
Frozen Oreo Bites and Mini Bars
Oreo has been quietly beefing up their presence in the ice cream/frozen novelties aisle, and this new Oreo mega-launch is no exception to that mission. Frozen Oreo Bites look similar to my favorite gas station ice cream, Crunch Dibs, while Oreo Mini Bars look very similar to regular-sized Oreo ice cream bars, just smaller. Again, they can’t all be earth shattering.
